Any other great ideas?
And what's the logic of restarting .. with rested all the way to lev 100 to re-cap in 4-5 months for the same xtra 10 levs which are hopefully around the corner?
Just make a new character if u aint happy with what u got? surely[/quote]

My view on the subject of a wipe/re-launch is;
If a re-launch were to happen, the feeling of stability and safety that allows you to plow ungodly hours and effort into the game would be gone. If this were to happen, I wouldn't feel like it was worth putting in the effort, in fear that a wipe would happen again. It'd be like going back to the days where p-servers were up for a month or 2 then closed and you found another. Never stability to be had to truely work on your character and feel good about it. I would rather the server closed forever, than a re-launch. However, I'm happy to carry on at current rate with more regular cap increases, the odd new stack of items for us to collect, etc, etc. I don't think the GMs here would wipe, they have had reason to in the past and never did and I believe its to keep us having the faith in stability of this server, which is why it has triumphed over any other P-server I've seen. This server and E-soma have been the only servers I've put any real effort or commitment into and thats a nice thing. I've quit and come back and still managed to get on with things, I've spent a total of 18months NOT playing this server since launch. What's kept me coming back is the fact everything is still there, the way I left it. I wouldn't attend a re-launch, or if I did, I most certainly wouldn't put any real hours into it. I think that the idea it'd be like first launch with a huge usercount and PvP everywhere is a pipe-dream, I don't think you'd get what you planned if they moved forward on your idea. It'd never get that attendence again, I'd estimate a shortened lifespan of a month or two upon relaunch before UC was lower than ever. At least with a cap raise it keep people coming back, even for 10 levels, or slowly moving forward.

I honestly do think though that for people who enjoy the actual gameplay of fighting on this game instead of grinding, quests and crafting it's looking quite bleak as is. Even if not a wipe there needs to be something big done like introducing a charge so money can be spent on promotion or getting it on steam somehow etc...

It is a natural occurrence. Find any game with a shelf life longer than 3 years? There isn't many and all of them have massive resources.
I see the benefits of resetting, all the cheated/Ill gotten items ect are gone. Fresh start for everyone. But who would that honestly get back? Would any of the EQ players come back for that? Would any of the FT players come back? Any of the nightblades? Would any of the NM players come back? How about all the players who quit at lvl 70 when the grind started? I think if reset you would lose more than you gain, unless you know of lots who would flood back that I don't? The only solution is content. And by that I mean new exciting content. Not the same old stuff with a new colour. Every day/week/month this is delayed is more that won't come back. I understand GM's having a life, but if you need help there are lots of capable people to ask that play. In the Korean boards there is a post from Isylver saying in January 2015 a cap rise was "close". It's 18 months on from that now and that's still the only time it's really been mentioned. Think of all the new games in the last 18 months and there is your answer.

Superfast rested to level 100 would do a lot actually. A lot of people myself included essentially quit after messing up such as breaking hero etc. Would definitely make a new char if it wasnt such an intense grind to be competitive

"FLICKTHEBEAN"My view on the subject of a wipe/re-launch is; A fair point and much better put then Lupi.. increase the cap at this point isnt going to do much imo. Only maybe if it was increased again shortly after at more regular intervals and it drastically speeded up for the noobs 1-100

The easiest thing to do would be the same as Dsoma. Give everyone X stats to assign. Give everyone X hero tokens again.
That way original chars and broken hero can be corrected. Short term, giving every capped char, a capped char of the opposite race (well lvl 90 human or 100 Dev) would do something quickly. I know a few people who would play Dsoma for somethin different, and I imagine the same the other way round. Wow uses this method to good effect.

Totaly agree with most of what you have just said. The majority of Eq and Ft would come back I still speak to them. Thats 60+ players there but as you said the same would happen again 8-12 months in they would drop off again for the same reasons.

I more than agree that any raise to total cap should have increased rates for anyone under existing cap upon release.
I also disagree with stat allocation. As there would have to be a mechanic to re-spec, who wouldnt just rather high exp mobs and frostwind with highest int possible for the levels, then re-spec into a different build?
