More characters have been gimped on hsoma than on Dsoma. Acaelus got it more than most so suprised about that.

That would be the drastic change required imo (if a cap increase can't be sorted out).

If rate increase from 1-100 was big enough there wouldn't really be any need for stat allocation. If I knew it wouldnt be like a year before I can fight id definitely make a new char and I know some others who would too

increased rates pre 100 would be good, many people drop off after hitting the 75+ grindathon and the game doesnt really become competitve until 90+.. its a shame!

Nothing would make me want to come back more than a relaunch. And people wouldn't lose faith in the servers stability. - game like this needs to be relaunched every 3-4 years if you ask me. People have stopped playing because there's nothing to do.

Would be nice to get a relaunch date for 6 months time or so. Up stats 10x loads of items and bosses so people can all cap and have fun while the GM work on a nice 6 month update!

Obviously I know there's a few people like Lupi and Lyon which would lose out with this but it's for the greater good of the server.

I'd love people to come back after the update but I just don't know how many people they can possibly bring back without a wipe now and for how long they'd stay

70-100 big boost is a big must imo, I know so many people quit at wbm on dsoma due to punching needing int.

To me the only thing that matters really is the usercount, and for the first time since server began it seems pretty obvious to me that unless there is a big change in levelling speed pre-100 a relaunch is the only thing that will really bring lots of people back

You have to remember that the 100 or so people who have left for whatever reason won't be posting what they would like to happen here.. it will mainly be the 5-10 people who are happy hunting/crafting/questing in peace and don't want any change...

Can't see the planned cap increase having much of an impact. Far too long has passed without any updates. As OTD said we get GMs have committments and do this for free etc. but there are plenty of people that would be willing to help with content/communication/day to day game management. You can't neglect any game (let alone an old one with a low uc like this) and expect it to survive.

Would a wipe bring people back? Possibly. I doubt I'd play again properly but I can see the appeal for those that still have the appetite.

Send emails around to everyone on the mailing list, do a bit of a marketing campaign about it and see what happens.

ppl who have several capped characters..and craft skills at 150 + wont be back if theres gona be the possibility of a server wipe every 2- 3 years..
personally im going for 200 wep craft skill.... if that goes back to 0 in a rewipe ..and other hi lev crafters wont be here to do that again..
all the players that left thro boredom or finding new games..thats your prerogative ..Dont come asking for ez life....get lev 100 in 2-3-4 weeks. Life doesn't work like that..well
imo anyway ;p

Seems most ppl asking for a '' new easier life'' on soma are ppl who have left or hardly play..and as the new update gets ever closer..they're beginning to regret leaving ( hardly playing) and hence here begging for some quick fix ''catch ups'' ;o

The usercount may well increase if people had to play their own characters instead of paying pilots to do it instead.

I see from the rules it isn't against the "rules" to let friends have access to your character (but it is at your risk).

There is a big difference between "friends" and "hired help".

Especially since the "hired help" can so easily exploit the position by planting characters at known boss spawn points and gaining an unfair advantage over other players (which is against the rules).

It's also against the rules to make (real) money by selling Soma stuff - isn't selling Soma "time" (or buying stat gains) the same thing?

Ban pilots please.

PS. I was amused to see a shout from a notable pilot (on his main) complaining about someone who was not on his own main and challenging him to get on his own main so he could "rip him". Seems someone borrowed someone else's character to nobble the pilot who then shouted "unfair". Made me laugh for hours.

People will always play other peoples characters be it friends or pilots, that's just how it is so no point constantly moaning about it. If no rules have been broken then you just have to get on with it. Don't see what the point is in re-raising the same issue time and time again. Seems n0legs has really scarred you.

You're obsessed. You need to get a hobby or something. This thread is about the future of the game, and it has been on topic the whole time until you pipe up. Give it a rest. Nobody other than you cares, and it's not going to change.

@Lupi - do you genuinely think more people will come back from a potential cap increase (if it ever arrives) than from a wipe? A wipe means everyone starts from scratch. The lower levels are the most interesting in soma (imo anyway). A wipe every 2-3 years is a must because I think after that the game gets stale.

No need to reset, make levelling more enjoyable to 100 and raise it by 10 levels every 6months.

@cyrox when the game is finished..and all updates have been exhausted..then by all mean do a rewipe..Though remember many ppl have spent 3 years crafting/ levelling characters..and with future lev cap+'s in the pipeline, most ppl dont wana re-wipe .....Just let ppl carry on levelling their characters..gaining their stats and play the game they enjoy.
If you quit a few months ago and hardly play .. fine.
You've had the same chance to play as any1 else, but chose not to.
Start another character .. Enjoy your lower levels again.
