"BALLER"No need to reset, make levelling more enjoyable to 100 and raise it by 10 levels every 6months. yes.. and that may well be what happens .. First update taking a while whilst gm's find a format that works and is simple to implement in the future

I was suggesting the usercount would be better if pilots were not allowed (the first line) so I am on topic.
It seems to me that there is a lot of pressure on Finito/iSylver (and Ghostlord) to raise the level cap over 100. If I were (especially) Finito or iSylver and spent my free time programming extensively for the enjoyment of other people with little or no payment, I would be pretty peeved to see other people make money on the back of that. I would also be peeved to see some of the people that were pushing for the cap raise not even bother to experience this new hard work themselves but, instead, have someone else do it for them. Wouldn't they then just ask for a further cap increase? That is to the detriment of the players that have played and enjoyed the game themselves and raised their own characters. Soma would be a better place if there were more people playing and most of us will never reach level 100 anyway. Jac

"JACKELPUP"I was suggesting the usercount would be better if pilots were not allowed (the first line) so I am on topic. Problem is how do you prove who is a pilot and who is a multi, can't exactly pull up a paypal statement proving who's accepting payment and who isn't. So if one goes they both should go. Most pilots don't even accept payment anymore and actually have access to characters through building actual friendships. Communicated with you in the past and I know you're not a bad guy but in my opinion ever since nolegs battered you you're thinking about it way too much, what about all the people that had quit chars parked at spawns like grath etc for months, if it's not one it will be the other point is it's not going anywhere. Just for the record I'm not nolegs.

Not having a poo at your char Aca, just surprised you are against some of the original and gimped chars getting a little boost! I played one of the most gimped chars for over 18 months so can hardly call out a chars stats.
Anyway some good ideas in here. It's clear a lot of people want the game to survive, it's just a shame there isn't a clear answer for that to happen. In my opinion, most people are here for pvp and the fun that brings. So anything done should be tailored to that community and trying to get those players back. People who enjoy the grid and things will always have content. The biggest trouble is the competitive and pvp community.

"FLICKTHEBEAN"My view on the subject of a wipe/re-launch is; This game has been around for like 15 years+ and been played and re-played on countless servers people are still making servers and joining new servers. The community that surrounds this game has never let it go. The idea that if this server was taken down/restarted all of that would suddenly disappear forever is hilarious. "FLICKTHEBEAN"the feeling of stability and safety that allows you to plow ungodly hours and effort into the game would be gone. This server has been out for like 3 years. A revised server with rates similar to esoma and a rested xp system that doesn't benefit the hardcore players would last a lot longer than this server and I'd have more confidence that there wouldn't be a mass exodus after just 1 year because people are already hitting the cap, which in a game like soma is the end of the game, it happend on esoma (after 7 glorious years), it happend here (after 1 year) and would happen again everytime. I'd feel a lot more confident and stable on a server like that which has learnt from this server and so would a lot of people that have quit with no intention of returning or putting hours into a server which effectively has terminal cancer, all your doing by upping the cap is prolonging the pain just slightly yet not giving it any extra quality of life. "FLICKTHEBEAN"I would rather the server closed forever, than a re-launch. This quote just seems disingenuous and a scare tactic from someone scared of losing what they have. "If you are willing to stick with a status quo which you know doesn’t work for you, there is usually some form a payoff which is influencing you to resist change. These payoffs are driven by fear of what you might lose if you made the change e.g." I think the above quote applies quite well to you and Lupiscus. Because hes put the time in to cap lots of chars an do lots of crafting then it would be unfair to make a new server, so everyone else should have to suffer with a server bleeding users. It's been at the point of no return since Plum hit 100. The sooner thats recognised the better. Dont listen to the threat of people who dont want to lose what they have, embrace change.

i came here to play soma....... i still haven't finished soma...what's wrong with asking to '' finish it''?
You and others may have finished ..but plenty of ppl haven't. Simple really. Not a question of not wanting change.. just the chance to finish what we started. Did sephitroth ever play soma? if so.. who was ur main.. and if there's a re-wipe..will u quit so quickly again? A post from a part timer hardly helps matters ..

Quite funny I never personally named you in my post yet you assume and get offended, hit a nerve or something?. Relax and stay on topic you've got a bad habit for going off track and ruining threads it's pretty toxic.

I feel to far behind, dsoma is to quiet, hsoma there's the con grind I just cba to start, Iv never liked crafting so that puts me off hsoma as well as it feels like u need SR to play hsoma Same goes for dsoma, once your 70+ u start needing upgrades and it's trusting ppl that just puts me off again, don't like crafting, can't stand having to sell 40 items 1 at a time

"XAXA"For me who didn't play much after launch It's of course very helpful but only needed if you have nice items or for your hero really, I'd say for the earlier stages of the game everything before maybe shanis/blg you'd probably get away with using untagged throw away armors etc if you can source enough.
