"FLICKTHEBEAN""SILENCE"The fun parts of the game are when you don't know what you are doing and the social politics is still fresh, being able to experience that kind of environment is actually useful and isn't half the the time suck it appears, the drawn out no thought grind fest post that is a waste of time. No offence but there isn't a great deal of "NEW" exciting content. I take your point about the noob grind but its all relative. You see someone go past in plate and every other fker is in banded they look LARGE. As some one said above its not the end point but the journey... there should always armours weps ect that are out of reach for poeple to lvl towards.

There's one thing I'd like to see before this game dies:
Beta level reset, only able to access TYT/Merc/Abias/Dungeon at start, BLG/NM/Prismatic Shadows/D3 DWs removed, weapons/spell from Conti held back, and let people play the game at it's most basic and condensed.[/quote]
But surely anyone that's come from e-soma and played multiple other servers are severly BORED of the lower levels we've done on EVERY server. It's always the part you want to get past to get onto NEW and exciting content that differs from EVERY OTHER SERVER we've ever played. I'm unsure as to why people are argueing to do the same shit over and over again. The only type of reset I could get behind, brand new maps, quests, mobs, starts, weapons giving different ratios, complete reformatting how the game works, or you're just doing the same stuff you've done hundreds of times prior.

I agree, there should always be something to work towards, caps should never be reached and there should always have been content you can't handle yet that new weapon you have in stash and can't equipt, new armours that seemingly have "joke" requirements you can't imagine having. Once you get an end-game weapon and some armour, the grind gets tedius, I feel the NEED to level when I have a close-by goal for a new bit of kit. I can't imagine having been at cap for a long time (have only capped a char relatively recently) and just hit level 100 on this one. The wait must be dire.
However, this server has chosen to wait for majorities to catch up at various points, to not let certain players, or characters to get too far ahead. Much more like newer games handle things. They try to create an equal footing, the only bonus of being "hardcore" or a team player, is to get there first. I personally don't have the stay power for an E-soma replica. Especially with the ability of fin/dan to create content I want to see new stuff, not old stuff for longer. We're finally about to get into new content. I quit when dex started taking 3 hours about a year into this server, of course when I came back it was all a lot faster, Rested went up quicker, etc, etc. Lots of bonuses in place to help the progress along and it was much more bareable for me, personally. The un-obtainable weapons being more common, etc, etc. I believe that once this first cap raise is worked out, it'll be a much quicker process in the future. Big hold back was dsoma and they'll have an entirely new leveling system in place. Humans are pretty easy going, this first raise only being time consuming to try and create equal playing field between older and newer characters. I have faith that we will see new and exciting stuff far more regularly after this, assuming the player base moves forward with the update and puts time in to utilize the content.

Again find myself completely agreeing with everything you say. Beta level reset is the dream, it's the model that the most popular private servers for every mmo follow. Commonly referred to as 'progressive servers'. So the content and patches are held back and released progressively as the top players near completing whats available. Just as it happend originally. An example of the benefit of this is the dungeon level 4 boss great devil guard. In esoma for several years it was the main boss. It dropped the top teir weapons m-tag, It was my favourite boss in game because of the difficulty just to activate him and his difficult to get to location. Unfortunately because this server shipped with the continental army patch already active + the fast rates it ment the next teir of weapon was already available and everyone skipped this era. Just one example of good content that exists but never used. On this server I used a SoD for like a week before it was obsolete.

Please give us a list of these 'loads of players' still playing that exist in your head. In addition, 'It's only gonna bring back the lightweights'...lightweights being the people that capped on this server first, and then were bored by the complete lack of content? Not everyone fancies capping 3 chars like you.

The game being "competative" is what keeps poeple logging in. As soon as that stops the majority stop playing.

I completely quit a few months back the longest i've been in game since is 5 minutes roughly I couldn't even find someone to help me xfer stuff in tyt, eventually I saw somebody hitting the dummy with a rediculous bow and thought fuck this (excuse my language) if you want my input as somebody who would actually love to return to the game but sees no point, I would say if a wipe is totally out of question 1-100 needs to be atleast 4x faster and 100-110 or whatever it will be needs to be atleast 4x slower than it currently is.
A few more changes I'd like to see; -Max upgrade being +3 There is no need for anyone to have retarded gear +5 and +7 gear is greed and purely non-motivating for someone with nothing. -(Hsoma only) A poison plant type system for SR i seriously cba to craft and trying to buy 5x srs for example when needing to repair hero can be very costly -Better drops At lvl 73 i can barely hunt due to having no decent armour or weps and no one online to trade with why aren't mobs i'm hunting at 79 str dropping shadow and why is nothing before drazil dropping suitable armour for me. This is my input whether you agree or not these are a few things that would bring me back and maybe more.

"FLICKTHEBEAN" People were at Sorc/Plate for the first GVW, the lower levels don't exist. Pit Wraiths/D3 DWs remove everything from that point onwards, VoD spreads people out too quickly so no one ever overrhunts and no one can remember a time when GDG, the best constructed boss in game, was the alpha boss. Magic was also better when most of it was hit and run and no one ever did it... People haven't played the rest of the game since it happened on ESoma, it's always goes way too fast. Besides, the best way to help new players is let them access spawns the quick players never hunted, people wouldn't wait for the new content to be released to get near the caps if it didn't hurt there characters, especially given the record of these GMs.

Some ppl who have ''10 man teams'' would welcome a rewind playing 24/7 between them and '' dominating again'' That wouldn't be much use or good for ur casuals or even more hardcore single players... FYI i have 2 capped characters..no more than plenty of other players.. ( no mutlies asboholm ) I, myself and me.. From many of the above comments... there's a disillusionment with what soma is..and has been ( + improvements made on this server).. Surely new stuff is whats needed..not just a re-roll and every1 start again with whats so familiar.. 3/4 of ppl be whining within a few days and everything back to the same old moans. Ghost said to lev 100 would be speeded up for players. New stuff is what's needed. No1 knows what it is yet so u cant complain about it. Mayb GM's come up with some ideas for longevity and decent new content. Just gotta wait and see. I haven't read the 10 or so pages of this thread, but get the drift. I must say if any chance of a wipe I'm out. I played test server and capped str and dex.. I said I wouldn't start again, but did, - I won't start a 3rd time...just my opinion...I don't have time to play 24/7 it's as simple as that...

Hi guys,
I'll be completely honest I've bitten off more than I can chew with work at the moment and due to this soma has taken a backseat. Paid work will always come first, I've not read the whole thread but there will not be a wipe. I need to catch up with finito and ghostlord at some point but as I'm currently not even getting back early enough to put my son to bed this will happen sporadically. Hope you're all well and hope to have some more free time soon. Dan
