I like Soma Because ....

"LUPISCUS"I came here to play soma........

I saw this on another thread and thought it would be positive and constructive (for Soma players, GMs and Soma's future) if we each offered the reasons why we enjoy the game (past and present players).

Hopefully, this thread will be imbued with only positivity that the GMs can take on board and use to propel Soma forward.

We each have our reasons why we enjoy the game and I think it would help the future of Soma if we aired them.

For my part, I mostly enjoy;

1) The evolved "Dungeons & Dragons" concept
2) The challenge of trying to understand what I can get (in terms of gains) from different creatures
3) The hope and expectation of a "drop" (a reward)
4) The draw to acquire better armour and weapons
5) The draw to improve my character
6) Chasing down bosses
7) Escape from the "real world"

There are many different reasons why we each enjoy the game and It would be immensely helpful for each of us to say so (and avoid saying what we "don't" like).

Let's be positive.

I think there's something about soma which you cab relate to the real world.. Hard work will progress us in jobs, saving up will buy us a nice car or house. I think because I'm usless at these things irl I play soma to accommodate that haha.

But yeah soma is great because it always leaves you wanting to progress, to either the next mob, item or weap it keeps you hooked!

Great thread Jac :)

I personally love to help people out, whether that be helping gather Essences, or just giving advice. Of course giving advice does mean hopefully giving out useful advice but healthy debates in guild chat usually come up with excellent information. Especially in an active and full guild.

The international aspect of the game is such fun too.
I now have friends in Italy, Canada, Wales, Manchester (I class that as foreign because I am a southern softy.)
It is nice to find new friends and pick up some language skills along the way.

Cookie
:)

Ciao.
Eh (Canadian)
Yaki Da
I'll stop Meithering you now (Manchester)

I played 15 years ago as was recommended the game by my friends, I was playing to spend time with friends, I have rejoined out of nostalgia and am really enjoying the cool people I have met in the couple of weeks I have been playing, Now I'm determined to improve my char so I can compete with the higher level players.
