I'll be honest, a big part of the reason I started playing again recently was the knowledge that I wouldn't have to punch. Punching sucks.
I wouldn't be opposed to the people that did manage the grind and punch getting some kind of bonus/benefit because I certainly wouldn't be able to stomach it for that long.

There's a lot of bugs you can do on esoma, does that mean we can abuse them all? It wasn't in the games original design and it's a flaw in the system (that's why it's being removed) it's also the reason a lot of people don't play dsoma as they don't want to punch for hours on end. It's ended up with people with very overpowered characters.
I'm really happy it's being removed and might even try dsoma myself. I'm not saying he should be punished with a ban or anything but maybe it should have been addressed sooner. But finito only has so much time. It'll work out for the better for sure

hows it a bug? and how was it not intended...
the only way you can gain int on dsoma currently is to punch... the str/dex gains arnt just magically made up by the server... they are the same as sword class..
punch archer vs pure archer would be same as archer vs sword except from the massive damage from sword...
yeah we have gained an extra 20 str.. but we've lost on dex.... devil vs devil the extra int gained makes 0 difference when taking damage from a mage... axe/ spear still almost take min damage yet 2/3 hit and sword 4 hits.. if it wasn't myth of archer there wouldn't be anyone complaining as its swinging in str based's favour

So we don't know. :( We do know punching was for int, but I highly doubt it was purposed as a new class - puncher. Which did seem to be the best route for some classes. This may not be techincally a 'bug' but it was working differently than intended as far as I'm concerned.

Since Humans will now get their cap to be 200 strength, 200 intelligence surely RvR will be some what balanced to stop punch characters from going in MD sets at WotW and just tanking with 10pots, removing punch means that Devils (axers, spear) will get 2 banged by a capped 200 int player?

If you would like to assume DSoma will not grow stronger, then yes I guess you could say that. But HSOma isn't the only one with a lvl raise nor will it be the only world with changes.

Do you see me logging on taking advantage? If anything I use to help, try my best taking bosses never asked for pots ohhhh just because I didn't die in 3 fucking seconds like human twats are use to its exploiting? if wis was md again I would lose almost 70 md.................................humans would do far more damage I wish I would of paid a ducking pilot to do the punching for me that way nothing would be getting changed then lol

Prime example of one`s reaction when they see their hard work all go, to 'balance' the game.

I don't see them as cheat chars at all but that's prob just you guys trying to get a reaction tbh.
As the game stands I don't really think the balance is that far off personally. My class will benefit from the patch and I'm still not convinced it's a good idea. I've never believed it would make for more diverse builds of characters but I guess we'll see. I think the people holding the keys here need to understand that it's content not the system that should get the lions share of work and forgive me if that's not the case - anyone spending hours working on Soma deserves a freakin' medal regardless. To put it politely - I wouldn't care if everyone owned me - as long as I had a reason to log in - - A fair chance of a decent weapon. - A working tag system. - High end mobs that actually drop stuff (even when server was populated dsoma drops sucked but you'll probably fix hsoma quick as they're moaning about it) - Bosses worth the time of day. (EDW fir example in Hwan/IC huge waste) - More repeatable quests (Fix wbm one from being awful) - Dsoma Dungeon Levek 2, door below shiro, drops orientated. - Magmas Huntable. (Since you now admit INT is messed up, not so long ago when a dsoma player complained about magmas you told them to go get some INT...) - NPC to change dropped weps for chance of decent wep like Fin mentioned. - More interaction between Dsoma and Hsoma. - NPC to help new players with gear. - focus less on team work ideas - player base is a struggle - ATM a team at magmas would be every active player- unlikely. You have to restore a little hope.

I think there are a lot of good points here, hopefully most of them are being addressed within the new patch.
Granted we aren't yet capped but at same level in mid 90's I have duelled (axe vs bow) and it seemed fairly even to me, I won 3/5 duels but then I have a decent-ish top end wrap whereas he doesn't. Agree with the point about bosses-the level it takes to kill then vs their drop file is way off but this has always been the case on soma, maybe with the newly changed requirements for weps/armours in patch they will be more fitting. Magma's-lets not even start on that one Regarding punching I always saw it as a personal choice, I couldn't stand it so did very little but if people wanted to put in the time/effort then they possibly should have been rewarded (similar to intheface comment about just switching to wis would nerf him somewhat) As for humans moaning about it is that just because you've come against someone you can't 3hit? Or that perms spamming zombie/weaken doesn't help drop him in 5 seconds, because if we are talking balance between worlds zombie needs seriously addressing, like a regen period or at very least making serum points weight 1 with more than 10 allowed on belt. The fact you have minimum twice the numbers and all your damage is dealt at range you kill most devs before they manage to land a hit

The main problem with the current system is changing one class effects every class
Changing intheface magic def to wis also nerfs mages magic def To me punch chars ain't a issue, procs are the main reason ppl punch No other reason someone would punch beyond 93 int robes on a sword class if not for procs Just proves how overpowered procs are imo. The new system would let the GM modifie 1 class with out effecting the others, they may even be able to modify 1 class stats and reset that class only stats Yes archers will be in the same boat, they won't dmg a axe class with out procs My hope would be that procs get nerfed and we get a new set of weapons with this update, ever way 1 change can Change everything currently
