Firstly I'm just wondering what the elite devil warrior situation is... Seems it has been killed 4 times in the last 24 hours, 3 times by devils... What's that all about??
Secondly I was always against the fact for example, a lvl 2 cure can cure a lvl 3/4 spell... Me and a few others wee talking and all agreed that it should be level suited I.e lvl 2 cure can not cure a lvl 3/4 spell... A third point we thought of was the serum situation. Maybe have a cool down period like with pots, but instead maybe have it as. 10-20 second delay as serums suck and make spells like weak, slow, blind etc during gvw almost pointless to use.. And finally the range on bow. I find it slightly unfair that just because your capable of using a high res, you have an advantage to bow people from off there screens. I was told this way maybe hard coded and unable to be changed, but if it could be I would suggest putting a range cap in bow to say 5 or 6. All work done to date on the game is greatly appreciated I'm just throwing a few ideas out there... Skieblue...

Bow is the same range it's always been , and the resolution to be able to see max range is not high, if someone chooses to play at 800x600 that's there choice and I don't see why the archers should be penalised . You know you can just increase your resolution for instant fix .
Try 1280x768 or 1366x768 both have never crashed when I've tested them.

A certain player 'no names' has admitted to being able to hit from near 3 normal screens away, this is not normal. I don't use a standard res I use a slightly bigger, and yet I've seen the bows flying from more then one side to the other...

Horizontally a 1024x768 screen is only range 5, so if you are playing on much larger resolution, bow has a range of 9, so you can shoot almost 2 screens across, which is pretty retarded tbh.
One shouldnt have to increase their resolution to stupid amounts because archers want to be able to hit everyone from another country. This problem never existed before since well you couldnt increase the resolution. I think it should be reduced to a maximum of 6/7, same range as any spell really.

"SKIEBLUE"Firstly I'm just wondering what the elite devil warrior situation is... Seems it has been killed 4 times in the last 24 hours, 3 times by devils... What's that all about?? We have the same boss 'Elite Devil Warrior' on Hwan, Infernal Caves, and Conti. When he does actually drop loot, its either barr, or complete junk, but you gotta be 75 or so to solo him, and spend a shedload of barr on pots, or an archer and cliff him. Exact same story goes for the hwan brothers, doing them as a melee is a joke compared to the 'possible' reward for killing them.

"VEX"Bow is the same range it's always been Not really... before you couldn't shoot at something off your screen simply because you couldn't click on it. So the actual range was your screen size... Now it has a larger range, because the screens are larger. Its not really that hard to understand. Why should someone be penalized and be able to be attacked off their screen for using the default resolution.

bow range needs to be looked at tbh
Had a dev bowing me off screen only notice at wraith in conti because I saw blood splats and you don't get them from wraith, if I was on a melee mob would have just thought a mob had killed me |

Yes bow range is ridiculous now that we have this increased resolution, you literally shoot anywhere on the whole damn screen.

MONSTER |
This is the main reason i made my click lock in pvp thread, bow should be limited to a certain range so that it cant shoot outside the 800x600 like soma should be, for instance on here in high reso it will carry on shooting if the bow user is in 1600x800 for example, but if one guy has a small monitor and cant play that size and is a bower also, they would be at a disadvantage because as soon as the player they are shooting runs offscreen it will stop unlike higher reso.
I know many have the capability to play in higher reso, but some people crash because of it too so its not just about the reso u can goto

I'm unable to play in higher resolution, so stick to 800x600 for stability to reduce d/c, lagg and general bugs. Also the UI looks horrid in higher res.. Although thats a personal dis-like. Not a fan of being hit from off screen, especially with the silly click-lock on pvp, have to use a FEW feathers to get out of the range, while the person hitting you sits there doing nothing.
Agree with all points on top post.

"SKIEBLUE"Firstly I'm just wondering what the elite devil warrior situation is... Seems it has been killed 4 times in the last 24 hours, 3 times by devils... What's that all about?? This should be in the 'Ideas and suggestions' section. No to all, aside perhaps a revision on bow / resolution, that is a major flaw.

Sorry just pathetic, "range is your screen size" no its your resolution , 800x600 is the same no matter what screen you put it on you will see the exact same.
800x600 what planet do you people live ? 1080p a ridiculous resolution? 1080p is the bog standard today, and you dont need to play 1080p anyway. Cant play stable over 800x600? dc/lagg/bugs? there is none , if there is its your end, and the UI looks exactly the same unless you have a crap screen with crap scaling. And yes "Before" is a key word and im glad you used it , esoma and the servers of the past are not this server , one that has been modernized as much as soma can be. As for crashes , yes there are some resolutions that are not stable , there are plenty that are stable 1080 being one of them if you dont mind the artifacts and black squares. people wanting game balance changed because they have a monitor from the 70's or something.

Why argue on semantics Vex, screen size and resolution are the same if you play windowed as I do. Either way that is a non issue.
The problem isn't that people can or cant play on higher resolutions, it is that the bow was intended to be the range of an 800x600 resolution screen. Now that we play on higher resolutions the effective range of the bow is now vastly higher than it was intended, and much higher than it should be. And while the servers of the past aren't this server, it is still the same game.
