Can someone remind me why esoma had a 200 damage cap on magic?
Was it to prevent it turning in to myth of mages like it has here. |

INT is always rushed and somewhat overpowered at the start of all Soma servers. Until people put down their bows and knuckles and replace them with axes and spears it will remain that way. Give players more time to progress and you'll eventually see more diversity in PVP.

End game, melee always comes out on top.
Intelligence gains faster, and as Gump says, this is the reason it overpowers in PvP early on and even into mid game. Wait until players have 120 Strength, Epic tagged weapons and high Dexterity, Intelligence will seem somewhat less overpowered then.

I disagree, int was capped for a good reason, give it a few months when people have dex and you'll see it stay the same, I agree that Int always dominates servers early but the damage cap being lifted is a mistake long term but we won't fully know until we get there.. just how i see things panning out.

"SCOIN"that's my point, ints far to easy and produces to much damage in relation to melee I think you missed Silence's point though ;o If you look at the guild listings posted you will see that most people predominantly have spent more time doing melee than magic. Meaning it will not be "Myth of Mages" as people are clearly only doing int for the MD. Whereas in comparison bow is what is overpowered and on goes the "Myth of Bowma" story. (Not saying I agree or disagree just saying what silence has said!)

Putting the damage cap back to 200 would address the imbalance. My myth of mages comment was referring to the fact that currently magic is the only option if your fighting another player, if someone has say 10 more int than you do they do a disproportionate amount of damage.
