Hsoma - Mob adjustments

I'm sure most of you know there are plenty of pointless monsters in Soma that have no benefit as either their defensive dex is too high or the monster has way too much HP. This often results in overcrowded spawns and lack of variety for the fear of losing out on exp.

As stat speeds slow down this is becoming more and more apparent & i'd love to see a larger variety of monsters being implemented. Below i'll list off a couple of potential changes:

78 Str mobs (Great for 70-80 str)

- Devil warrior - This is the mob everyone hunts as its low HP , low defence dex, high exp.
- Desert Scorpions - This is the second best mob but has higher defence dex and higher HP which results in the mob being unused.
- Level 3 EE's - This is the 3rd best mob to hunt but has even higher defence dex & hp, it has a great spawn but it's completely pointless to hunt them since they have double the HP of a Devil warrior and almost 20 more defence dex.
- Bone Golem ( I haven't included these as we only with Conti once in a blue moon)

Then after these monsters we hit a wall? The next mobs for strength are Valks & Warmess that have 91 strength, a huge jump of 13 strength?? Why isn't there a monster to bridge the gap? Perhaps a mob should be created, something with 85 strength located in one of the empty spots in Abias or dungeon level 3.

I always get the feeling that the developers put their heart and soul into levels 1->40 with Soma and included lots of variety which slowly slopes off until your hunting the same monster in the same spawn with the same people for the next week to a month!

As mobs str gets higher and higher you dont actually need that str to hunt them,

You can do DWs / Bone golems till 85 atleast
You can start valks/mess at 85 easy
Palus / LB have 108 str, but people hunt them from 90+ easy

Using an extreme example, BLG have 140 str, but obvoiusly you dont start hunting them at 140, you can hunt them way earlier 110/120 maybe i dunno...

Ok good to know, how about the lack of variety issue? Most that could be fixed with adjustments to HP or even copying the top mob for that areas stats and then putting it onto the others e.g. take DW stats and change EE/DS to the same.

I agree with this. More variety would make this game much more fun. Imagine being able to alternative between a number of mobs like you can at low levels, all with different drops and perhaps quests associated with them. There are plenty of mobs out there that are pretty muh useless that could be adapted.

Desert Scorpions and d3 EE do need to be sorted out, as they are actually an unused mob that is seen as useless.

Giving them the same stats, hp and exp as DW would help greatly, people could hunt what they wanted, hunting would feel less constrained and more fun.
