"JAMAL""S0RCERER"First trivialize leveling so we all have the same stats. I did read it. I summed it up pretty well. Free gear for people to PvP with, discrediting hundreds/thousands of hours that others have invested to get theirs. Clearly you fail to realise the thing that differentiates level 100 characters from eachother is the gear they attain (seeing as they cannot gain any further stats). The stats are already going to be homogenised and now you're asking for free gear to PvP with, also trivialised any semblance of competitve play by introducing a % system for GVW.... What else is gear for other than to PvP with? Stat capped characters can kill all PVE content with non upgraded items. Your suggestions for 3/4% sets, +2int/str sets are musings of a mad man. In b4 "stop being so negative yadya" when all i'm doing is stating the obvious.

I think the people dismissing ideas because it makes their thousands of hours play mute are missing the bigger picture, soma never did last very long even on Esoma (in terms of large active numbers) because it's too hardcore....I'm not saying make things care bare but most people don't want to have to play thousands of hours to be able to compete.
It needs to cater to both types of player, the casual and the more hardcore. It is slowly catering to both and I for one like that. This idea has merit, make it easier for people to compete but don't make it too easy....simple really.

I wouldn't be opposed to basic +1 gear that can't be upgraded. I think there was a thread somewhere else that mentioned a "hero weapon", like a +2 Apus tier weapon that can't be upgraded.
Let's be honest, it's not like a +1 set and +2 weapon is trivializing anything. But I also feel a change like this isn't necessary (+1 and +2 gear is really easy to get at this point); time could be better spent elsewhere...

"XKF"Why are ppl so hell-bent on making this a short term server? It will not be a surprise this game will not last for several months.

It'll become like every other 5-month soma server if you keep this up...
First the %, now this.
It's very simple: If this game is too hard for you and you don't want to invest time in it, then this game is simply not for you and you should look for something else that suits your needs.
I here there's some kind of MMO with orcs and elfs... something something warcraft... try that one, supposed to be piss easy and has lvl 100 boost...[/quote]

this idea is disgusting and an insult for the real players of this server that have been playing for years and dedicated their time to build their characters.
If u wanna revamp POS shop as u should but with non upgraded armors and also do pos reset for example add Titus stuff for pos for humans and for devils add weapons maybe? and while doing that introduce bk the pos gems and add em only to conti mobs.

I am a real player and I am not insulted?
In fact for WotW this is exactly what's needed. (Give humans wotw weapons that actually damage Devils and armour that can defend them and the % would stack up better and mean we won't have to just rely on magic) You need to learn to adapt and change. The game has stood still for 3 years and is essentially dying. Closing the door to any idea irrationally is stupid. If you think giving some players pvp gear that's +1 or +2 to use at a GVW is going to do squat. My gear is all +5/6/7. The % change you guys hate so much has been the est thing to happen to GVW on hsoma since the EQ/Dynamic days in terms of turnout. I don't see how anyone can complain about it.

Dont make bold sweeping comments without evidance to back them up.. what is large active numbers to you? Last year or two of esoma it had 500-700 users online at peak times. Even in its death throws after it was hacked several hundred poeple continued to play... The leveling changes were good imo. However the positive effect on the server will be negated if the cap is not raised.

To those who say no. There's no way you can imagine this working? Let's increase our thinking box, because this could be implemented in so many ways it's frightening.
If you would need to attend 100 GVW's / WoW's (hyperbol) for one piece of armor. Could you then consider it 'free'? Or would you consider it hard work? If you could use the item up to lvl 90, wouldn't it then benefit you as well? As this would increase the amount of nubbins at wow/gvw. What if the gear is 'useless' for all you hardcore players, because 'real' items are much better. Would you still oppose the idea? The items would still help those who aren't able to spend thousands of hours. What if you could only use the gear for a week or a month and then it vanished? Would you still hate on this nub-helping item set? I assure you there are many more scenarios applicable. It's 'disgusting' to see people jump to conclusions on an idea that isn't even real yet. We need content to keep players ingame as well as attract and retain new (returning) players. Let's keep an open mind and not only think about ourselves. :) Thanks for all the feedback. Please continue giving us ideas. :D

I'll never get good gear, if I could effectively "borrow" some for wotw etc i'd probably attend, those with silly op gear will still be better off as the "borrowed" gear won't be better then theirs, but it'd still be better then what i'll ever have.
My best item from anything is +2 lol I don't even own an eva top.

Some good ideas coming out, really like the idea of battle ground points with a battleground shop with items and hopefully upgrades in. Also like the idea of some RvR items hopefully something to stop humans doing min damage to devils with Melee and something to help the devils stop getting two shot with magic.
I understand some people with op gear don't want their gear to seem less over powered because it's taken them along time to work for it. They still will have it outside of these events and will still have an advantage at the wars aswell. A more equal war for me is better than someone tanking it for an hour but that's just my opinion.
