Hope it's ok to piggyback on this thread, but imho the restock mechanic could also use an overhaul, which would help a great deal with the SR issue.

Getting SR itself is basically an exercise in patience, but not skill - you have to be able to put up with the boredom and monotony of doing the same thing for several dozen hours from 0-100. What personally is (almost - i have 100 weap, 65 access and armor) a dealbreaker is that the quantity of mats that restocks is pitiful compared to the quantities demanded to progress. To get from 50-70 access skill you need +-80k copper, which means a bare minimum of 10 restocks to get the mats if you're solo for time 1, and then infinitely more time if there are others going for the materials.

Obviously there many be many who disagree because they had to struggle through the old system, but IMO Doubling, or even tripling the quantity of materials available per restock would help the crafting ecosystem dramatically, and reduce an arbitrary barrier that puts a lot of people off completely and artificially time gates others.

I have around 30k of most materials in my gstash. I don't craft or stalk restock much unless I'm low on rested xp

It's a target of opportunity. If you happen to be there between hunts check it

If you want to have a good chance at known times like T1, make sure you are there to take part.

There are quiet times and there is always a new opportunity to get a step ahead of the casual restockist by keeping a watcher beside your NPC of choice so that you can pin down the first random restock of the day giving you a clear advantage for the rest of that soma day

My primary craft is access and at 110+ I go through around 900 copper per run to the anvil. So at this point I don't chase trying to craft for any length of time steady cause I'd run out of mats after a few runs

I personally like the idea of an sr npc or sr token which can be bought and used within say 2 days or something like that with maybe a max of 10 being stacked?

I also like the idea of more mats at restock times, before I could play at daft times of night / morning so I could get all the mats I wanted. Now I can play between 4pm and 8pm so mats are harder to buy.

It's all about balance of course, I'm not asking for 100k copper, maybe an extra 2k at time 1 and 1k in the mid restocks.

SR token +1,

Could be bought at BLACKSMITH for like 100k apc ? Would be cool and would make barr useful again.

MMO markets evolve with supply and demand. Placing an NPC to ease the grind for a certain type of player is the beginning of the end imho

I think sr token from a player with SR might be better. Still leaves meaning to people attaining sr's. I have many sr's which I don't use because I don't play as much as I used to so being able to sell these as tokens would be handy.

I agree. Dsoma has a varient of sr by default so long as the item is repaired at 20% max dura and if below they have poison plant so it's a non-issue.

A by product is a lower proportion of the community crafting at all

Sorry to also piggyback the thread but how about a daily quest for the blacksmith and the reward being a free SR?

Each day the blacksmith will require say 100 mats/items (not sold by NPC), for example he may require 100 iron, so off to raps/desert scorpion etc hunting!

This will also allow users to increase the chances of getting essences and other drops like frogs, herbs and large liver to use or trade so its a win win situation!
