So if we removed the crafting cap, then players would be able to craft all disciplines meaning:
Pro's
-Less inconvenience in terms of store char 'spillovers' etc
- More SR's in circulation, thus lowering the price of them.
- More time spent in town and crafting, giving a greater sense of community and comradery between crafters.
-incentiveises full time crafters.

Con's
-Discards the need to make choices about what to craft.
-Players with skill in all disciplines may attain a monopoly on the production of armours, weapons, breads, upgrading. leaving no money to be made for other crafters from non-crafting consumers.
-More SR's in circulation reducing the income for crafters.

I think in the light of all this, perhaps lifting the cap may not be a bad thing.


I think a compromise would be:

>remove total skill cap, allowing any amount of skill in each upto 100, but only allow 1 to go past 100 as a primary
>bring in armors such as dark/shadow/bone allowed craftable & next tier weps after last currently craftable at skill 125-150+
>possibly an increased chance of tags every 10 skill over 100.

this will give full-time specialized crafters a decent way apart from upgrades/SR's for income.


I agree with you as far as armors weapons or accessories goes . The other part of crafting pots/cooking u need 150 skill min to have good success rate . Those 2 must left to go to 200. As far as armors weapons acc skills am happy as they are now with 400 skill total to use . If cap lifted then yes be able to go till 100 at all of them for moneybut for more to chooce one , am for it

Incorrect, anyone who wants to get more srs will plan accordingly and most likely leave out cooking or pot to obtain this, getting a 2nd is is no easy feat, and takes about 200 hours crafting from 100-130.

There is no real choice to make, anyone who wants to craft anything will just lvl another char to lvl 20 (Which with rest bonus is no time at all, the craft skill cap is just a major hinderance to this.

Highly unlikely, nobody even sells weapons / armors anymore, the only thing worth selling is sr.
Dont really think anyone sells breads either, but im sure anyone with cooking / pot can make decent money making bread or red bean rice cakes.

As previously stated, there isnt goning to be a huge increase in SRs because cap is lifted, Anyone who wants to spend this many hours to get sr, will plan accordingly, and probably do cook/pot on another char or not at all.
100-130 is 200 hours crafting (Not including buying mats) for 2 srs,
130-170 is another 400 hours crafting (Not including buying mats) for 3 srs

TLDR: Crafting skill cap is just of annoyance, anyone can just make another char to get around it, shouldnt really exist in the first place.

No-one makes money from crafting armours or weapons for players, on e-soma it did because of the sheer time it took to level out of weapons and armours and to get the crafting skill in the first place. Removing the skill cap would ONLY remove the annoyance of making a second char.

See crafting as 2 parts . One part is : armors weapons and accessories that total 400 crafting skill is enought to get all 3 sr s and also cap at what you see fit . For me is armor for others is weapon . No1 wanna cap accessories so 70 skill for sr is just fine . The other part of crafting is : pots and cooking . To have good success you need minimum 150 skill . The second part should left to be able to cap . So one char can do his/her upgrades . All am asking is to be let to do on main char all for the reasons i said above when i made this post .

even though I myself have crafted on 2 chars I would also luv to see the cap removed, its just a big pain in the butt!! :D

If you dont want to lift the crafting skills cap at least give 800 crafting skills to spend how we see fit . As one char gets 400 and to get all crafting skills u need 2 chars ( main and store ) therefor 800 crafting skills , by giving us 800 you just make our life easier on game . This is not e soma . Took me 3 months there to get armor sr . Here it suposed to be easier and more to what players feel would make the game more fun to play .

I think the cap should be raised to 500 to allow for a metal at 130 and 2 other metal crafts at 70, followed by cooking and pot at 110. Gives a total of 490. Couldn't complain then

The point of my post is that in order not to lvl 2 chars up so we can have all crafting skills we should allowed to have 800 crafting skills . Of what u saying makes no dif as i will still have to lvl up 2 chars to have them all . Therefor no need the 400 skill per char to change .... make it 800 do all ur crafting on ur main char using ur bagweight while you be on gaining rested and check stuff in town and your guild . What am asking makes seanse

Bumping this as it would be nice for it to be looked at :)
In fairness, I'd love to craft armour and weapons just so it can pay for pot and acc crafting. I make no money from crafting either of these, it costs me money. Admittedly, I use the pots for my own use but crafting acc costs me money.
I know there's a concern about peple having the monopoly but as pointed out, nobody really makes money from having crafting skills. Very few players sell sr, maybe because they need to use it on their own arm/weps.

I craft access for the skill, not to make bar. We all know access is never going to make profit. However I do think that upping the skill just for the sole reason of metal crafting and being able to do pot/cooking will help a great deal

I don't craft acc for the barr, just pointing out that it costs me to make acc. For what it costs to buy the copper, I only make half the money back :/

I made a profit from 45/50 skill on esoma, should be sooner here because of the hardend/rare etc

I've got nearly 45 skill and worked it out the other day as to what I made/lost. Think for every run it cost nearly 15000 barr and made an average of 11000 barr selling the items. Losing 4000 barr a run may not sound a lot but it does soon add up, especially if you haven't much barr to begin with ;/

Can we please have a comment from a GM about this issue ? At the moment the truth is that all crafter do items for other players for free . Been at loom and now at forge i see Elric Slither myself and few others making armors or weapons for free . Am trying to sell my armor sr and nobody buys due to the fact that most people do int or hunt at wraiths or lower lvls just normal repairs their armor . Hell if blacksmith brakes it pm me i make you new for free. I pm people to give my sr for free few need . At the moment you only craft cause of the money and to sr your item . Thats it . Few people wanna cap crafting skills , as Fuji said takes ages . Elric says you need more that what Fuji said here . Give me the option to be able to cap armor pots cooking on my main as I AM WARRIOR/CRAFTER.
