Devil Axer Guide

Author Content Date
Hi all,

Started a devil axer. Hope this wasnt a bad decision haha. Anyway i have never really played devil soma before in any depth.

Would someone please be kind enough to give me a very rough guide for the following:
- what mobs to hunt at which lvls, and if we have conti what is a good alternative
- what does punching do (just give int?) and how much punching should i do
- how do i get low lvl armours? because the npc armours seem to be impossible to collect the mats for lol.

Thank you

This'll be vague, as the leveling route for a melee is very flexible.
For an axer however, you do have some restrictions on what to hunt due to your dex.

Ignuits > Mordants > Infernal Mantis > Dread Scythe > Rotting Corpse > Hellion > Warban > Mutated Grasshopper > Hwan AB > Tarkilhi Paladin > Gargoyle Fighter > Kharil Lizard > War Beast Miner.

With Conti:
Ignuits > Stone Golem > Dread Scythe(conti) > Warban(conti) > Mutated Grasshopper(conti) > Tarkilhi Warrior(conti)/Giant Lizardmen(conti)/Minotaur(conti) > Altered Beast(conti) > Kharil Lizard(conti) > War Beast Miner.

For your armour, you will, unfortunately be completely reliant on other people as items you require do not drop from monsters your own level.

Fortunately, some items are attainable.

All armour up to 33str can be purchased through Sgems (drop from all conti monsters).
33 str gear can drop from Rotting Corpse

Unfortunately all armour above 33str are dropped from monsters that are not in your level path.

42 str gear is dropped from Gargoyle Fighters and other monsters of similar difficulty.
51 str gear is dropped from Elite Gargoyle Fighters (relatively strong magic monster).
67 str gear is dropped from Elite Guards who are tough for even level 60 players.
84 str gear is so incredibly rare, you'd be lucky to ever get to see this stuff ingame.
104 str gear is dropped from Elite Guards and is possibly the only armour since 33str gear where the monster which drops it is appropriate for the equip requirement.

Now, what monster to hunt and when.

Follow the above leveling list I have given you and search for each of the monsters in the Armoury.
Check their STR and their defensive DEX. If the monster's STR is highlighted GREEN then it is time to move onto the next monster in the list.

If the next monster in the list has defensive DEX that is far superior to your own (highlighted RED) then you should stick with the monster you are currently hunting.

You can veer off the leveling path to kill monsters that drop weapons for you such as Earth Elementals, Devil Warriors and Darian in Infernal Caves, but make sure to check their stats on the armoury before giving them a shot.

Was just about to post a helpful bit. But imo Sorc did a awesome job.

From what i can add is Axe skill is rather slow so be prepared.

Punching wise i would wait until Str 95 like i am as there is a massive slowdown then. Maybe 5% a level but i wouldnt go to mad until 95str.

Perfect Defense is awesome!!! Helps so much

Hey guys. Been a while, but have kinda hit a wall on my lvling recently.

I have just hit 80+str and have recently been lvling on tark paladins in hwan.

However, now I am within 30str of the mob and not gaining the added 'bonus' u get from being more than 30 str below.

My plan was to move onto giant lizardman in Conti and then Conti ABs. However, devils have not had Conti for like 3 weeks now.

I made the decision to rest the character and wait until Conti is won, however now I'm bored and really want to get back to lvling.

The next non Conti mob is GF which I think I'm a little low for.

My question is, would additional lvls on tark paladins be a bad idea? Do I have any other options?

Thanks

You will be fine on palas till 90 str then move onto garg fighter, don't forget you have shield and perfect def so I'd be suprised if u can't hunt gf now
