Drop Zones - A thing?

Does my mind play tricks with me, or are drop zones a thing?

By which, I mean I feel like I noticed on certain mobs that swords/bows/axes mainly drop in certain areas of the spawn. I swear I've experienced it when hunting at certain spawns, but confirmation bias and all that are equally likely to be the case.

Surely for mobs on a certain side of a spawn to have a higher drop chance for a certain items it would involve different mob files, which aren't available on the armory.

So it's probably not a thing?

After an update where dropfiles were merged, this should no longer be the case. But who knows ;D

Ah ok, thanks!

I made a mental note where I was at a spawn whenever I got a weapon type drop, I could have sworn there was a pattern. Like always got bows at a certain area, and always hunted there and got bows more often other weps....but most likely it's just a tiny sample size and me looking for patterns.

For years it did work as you said it, specific spawns for specific drops. I have a bunch of coords written down for h-soma diamond drops somewhere. Was always worth keeping track.

The drop merge only counts of all spawns on the specific map you're on, so if HWAN and conti spawns had different drops, they'd still be different. But any on the same map will all have a chance to drop anything they can on said map.

Just to point out that we don't know if finito merged the different spawns of the mobs, so before mobs could only drop 15 different items, so multiple spawns of the same mob was needed to hold 15+ items

If finito just increased the amount of items a mob could drop then it's possible that the different spawns could still drop in the order they did before, even if theres more items to drop

It's possible that fin has, tho the game itself still seems to run weird

We are no longer stuck with the maximum of 15 drops. We can go passed that now. :)

All mobs with a spawn on the same map have been merged. Mobs on different maps however, are not. A good example of this is Devil Warriors in the Dungeon VS the ones in Merc.
