Soma has lost it's appeal

the solution to celts problem would be a change in mentality from the 2 bigger 'pking' guilds VK and DL

These guilds could keep the pking between themselfs and try to leave people alone who just play Soma for a bit of fun / pve / escape from real life. After a while you know which chars these are ... But i thought mostly they just pk between themselfs already :/

Ofcourse there will still be pk now and then from certain people / but if it gets outreagous its called herassment and you can simply screeny this and send it to ghostlord if its realy putting you down like this ...

"LEONARDO"Best thing to do would be to bring patch out and cap raise so lvl100s have something to do. Simple.

Then when they cap in a weak with their multiple pilots, they will be back at pking again but the normal players will be now even more lower level so TRULY don't stand a stance .....

gg Leon, cleary 12 irl with that mentality bro

me 12? Seriously? Rates after level100 will most probably be x2 again while levels before level100 will be what they are now, which means lower levels will level up alot quicker than level 100s can. It will not be possible to cap in a week.

"TRICEPTIMOUS"Just an idea, but to prevent abuse of PVP, would it be possible to put a limit per day of the amount of PKs an individual can make?

For instance:

Player X kills 10 people in one day. 10 being the limit his PK mode is restricted (ie turned off) for 24 hours.

10 kills per day to prevent excessive killings. Worst case scenario you get 6 guys, thats 60 deaths, but the killers lose there ability to pk after a while.

WotW, GVW, Duel, Greys, would not count towards to "daily kill count".

This would be in addition or instead of the current level restriction.

Not really - because even when a player can't kill you, them attempting to is enough to deny you hunting or enjoyment if you're much lower level and just trying to grind.

I had a period where two players hunted me, and although they couldnt kill me, they harrassed me and denied me hunting for 6+ hours.

I would say this issue isn’t a huge issue most of the time. There’s times where you’ll struggle to hunt for one night but the majority of the time it’s fine. We have little outbursts where out of boredom we go for an hour round all hunting spots then generally log off. But I can see your frustration too celts... but it’s part of the game and you get used to it.

I've been away and back on/off, always enjoyable but then again I am on Dsoma not Eastenders, sorry Hsoma.

Why is there no 3 kill ghost mode rule, i.e after 3 kills that same player can't kill you for 60 mins?

"MANDELA"pretty sure the new xtra levels wont be completed in a week.. pilots or not.. and with a possible speed up of 1-100 ..ppl will catch up a bit qwikker x

Sarcasm mate obv not gna be an actual week ;p but in comparison to a normal player its kinda hard to keep up and usually the more hardcore lvlers are the pkers

i got no idea what the slows are gona be after cap + ..but id think its gona be 2 weeks per level minimum hardcoring it..... 10 levs = 20 weeks = 5 months..
Who knows.. but where levs and stats are available..ppl gona be spending their time doin that, rather than runnin around pking lower levs..hopefully

Gives players a goal and something to do rather than being a bellend 24 hours a day

Ghost said in the week, he was gona ask Fin about stuff/ updates etc ..so maybe we get some news soon ;)

"CELTS"

first time i went into vod there was around 4-5 guys standing around the entrance spawn point instantly stoning me and then zombie me and nuke me down in about 5 seconds.

This is the problem with PK'ing in Soma. As Celts' experience shows it exists purely to ruin the fun of others. What exactly did those players gain from killing him? Items? No, kudos? No, it took 4-5 of them and he was completely incapacitated so they didn't even get to enjoy a fight. What else are we to conclude was the point other than to ruin the fun that others may have? The truth is that the PK system on this game is simply too frivolous because the system does not regulate itself hence Ghostlord turned PK'ing off for the entire weekend. Essentially, daddy has to come online and take away the toys because the kids can't behave and because the game has no system to manage PK'ing effectively...this is ridiculous. It is even more ridiculous when you consider the age of the people playing the characters!

The role of the player killer on Myth of Soma is supposed to mirror the role of an outlaw. As an outlaw you face many obstacles (or at least you are supposed to!) and so originally this meant that you couldn't buy pots in town, indeed you had no town access at all, guards will kill you, your moral value hit rock bottom putting a bounty on your head that allowed other players to kill you without consequences and at their whim. But...and here is where the fun in PK'ing is supposed to lie...despite these obstacles you still levelled to be the best, the strongest and the most feared. You hang out at the GV intimidating the 'noobs', you run into a spawn point in VoD and people move out of your way, occasionally you and your red buddies blockade town or raid Merc for fun, whatever. Maybe you get lucky and get a decent drop. Unfortunately it has now became a pastime to pursue when you are bored. It simply scratches a very mild and very temporary itch, nothing more. It is a case of I'm bored, what can I do? I know 'pew pew...you're dead...hahaha'.

Return the PK system to its original game settings. Getting out of red moral MUST be difficult. It is the game's natural self-regulating function that limits PK'ing to only the bravest of players. The lack of this difficulty in the present game is the reason we see constant posts asking GMs to turn PK'ng on after once again they have turned it off! You can increase the rate of stat gain in Soma because that is a matter of game mechanics but you cannot tamper with the gain of moral because that relies on the psychology of the players not game mechanics. So, either revert to original settings or create a new mechanic. Get rid of the gypsy village too, PK'ing is supposed to be a hard life. It is fun being the outlaw having to rely on wily others to illicitly procure necessities on your behalf.

PK'ing in its original form was genuinely fun for all now it is simply big boys that are bored.

Of course it's not an issue with You, your a capped player with some of the best items in game and in one of the best guilds. For a casual solo player who likes to play a couple of hours a night.... yes it is an issue

I’m sorry but upto level 82 I think it was i was in magners, a nice neutral guild. I was pk’d several times during that time and even while first joining DL I was hunted constantly, I think I have just as much right to say it’s not that bad. Now that I’m capped your right it doesn’t make a difference. For the likes of celts whose had a very low number of deaths over 4 years I don’t see the problem? It’s a bloody pvp game, I’d hardly say celts has been harassed nor would I say his post is even justified. All these people moaning about dying less than a handful of times is absolutely redic and pathetic. Pking has already been made harder and now it seems people just want to have it permanently off.

Ghost mode is a good idea. Player can activate it anytime they want like /freemode and can't be pked by anyone. This should come with a pentality ofc. % and drops changed to 70% for that player while ghost mode is activated, they have the choice to level up that little bit slower, but in peace or risk being pked for normally levelling/drop rates
