Can we make this thread a proper discussion not flame and the usual crap please...

So one of the biggest issues is the abuse in dsoma and hsoma i.e hsoma all fight with one another and same on dsoma...Which is ok to an extent.

But if they both had something bigger to focus on would this improve?

I really think more RvR stuff will help soma in general.

rather than just 1 hours a week for wotw. And ss that it really messed up atm with %.

I think a few tweaks can make a big difference.

Post below some ideas and see what we come up with.

Some ideas i came up with

1: Keep devils at 70% until the cap patch. 70% worked well at last WoTW imo.
2: Make time 6 raids 100% for hsoma and keep same for devils. BUT put a portal in Main towns i.e tyt. Its a pain running to vod and by time it alert you no1 goes because it takes to long to get there. And let us pop out closer to where devils will be.
3: Make pos actually worth something.


Some ideas.

So if me and say 5 friends had a choice to go and PK in hsoma or raid dsoma Conti/t6 it needs to be more appealing to go do the RvR stuff.

Conti raids % needs capping at WOTW % and not a further reduction of 12.5%, dsoma has far less drama then hsoma, we have fun PK most of the time, with the odd exception of players from the Koreans guilds who take it way 2 far.

There needs to be more incentive for humans to actually fight for conti, there is what 2 mobs on those maps worth hunting for humans where as devs have 4 mobs important for stats on that map.

invasion portal in town would be amazing, when u aren't paying attention and u see the message that you can invade, can never be fked to try.

maybe add some re-skins or other cosmetic reward for pos? sure this has been posted 500000 times already in ideas/suggestion though :p

Before we discuss details, we have to consider the possibility that balance is impossible.You have to somehow reconcile all these facts:

- Devils have too much str, and too high value on armour, and too much f10 attack.
- Devil dex is insane compared to humans when it comes to melee v melee, even if damage was balanced.
- Melee humans have too little attack to hurt any devil of similar level/gear quality.
- Mage humans have insane damage against all devils because our MD and Int/wiz is pathetic.
- Human population is like 4 times devil.
- Devils can only left click and 1 attack aura, whereas humans can use myriad useful spells and auras that combine together in a lethal way.

I have no idea how we can make it so that a human mage can't 3 hit a devil, but a human melee doesnt 40 hit a devil. Similarly, if it's balanced in a 1v1 sense between realms, then humans crush because they have synergising spells and more people.

Best to focus on balance within realms.

Other than that, three positive changes would be:

- 2 forray opportunities into the other realm each soma day, make them longer (20 mins) or make them easier to access. So many times i'd fancy going to VOD but i forgot to run to KL in time, and when i get there i have a 6 min run to BLG or a 3 min run to mags.

- Make humans want to use conti. I have no hope of finding humans to fight if I go there during human-owned weeks.

- Make pos exchange like 200-300 per kill between capped people. Killing someone to gain 100 feels like no gain. Then let me buy something useful with it.

- Not enuough devs hunt in IC compared to humans in Vod. Humans should get a second portal to Hwan.

Moving portals to towns is too easy imo

- The main Improvement would imo be getting people to hunt in conti. Now that you wont drop gear to devs this can VERY easily be done just by 1. adding mag spawns. 2. Double drops on this map. 3. Increase lvling speed by 10-20%.

It would instantly turn Conti in a pvp fest

Those conti changes seem a bit drastic, but the principle is solid. If we want wotw to matter to humans there needs to be an attraction for capped levels to want the map and to use it. A mag spawn with slightly higher drop rates would be a good start.

As soon as there is consistent and equal desire for races to win Wotw, attendance will be high and stable - so the percent should settle on a fair amount and fluctuate properly.

When one race goes into anothers realm they need to be at a disadvantage to stop them farming mobs and dominating people leveling there to the point that people dont want to hunt there.

making portals easier to access to each world would be welcome... maybe for slightly longer periods of time too.
The idea of pos and rewards sounds like a recipe for ppl making new characters of the opposite race and killing themselves all day just to gain this pos.. Don't like that idea tbh. There was talk of ''battle points'' or something different from pos to do the same thing.. tho the same farming would happen with those too.

Proly better to wait for the cap+ before asking Fin to introduce more new things.
Noticed too that during 'pk off times' the server gets busier and ppl come out to play. Possibly make some pk free zones or areas at some point.

Maybing adding tablet drops to on both races to conti mobs, as they are desirable on both races.

Mags sounds nice.

Since e soma it is always same, h soma mages and team cooperation is key, when devil archers and stone make key role in RvR, that's why % balancing is key.

% works fine in theory, there certainly isn't a better system that allows for variations in population/attendance over time. But it needs to be dynamic.

The problem is that race incompatibility still exists. Look at it this way - archers are lowest def devil class (lets ignore mages for this point) and if humans are on 100% and devils on 80% then we are legit talking 30 to 40 hits for a max str and max gear char to melee me down (ignoring the fact they cant hit through my 200 dex).

So you think - lets have humans on 100% and devils on 60% then so the melee char 5 or 6 hits me and I do the same back. So it's balanced?

No its not, because the capped/geared mage 2 hits me with unweakened SS from long range when im at 60%, and still 4 hits when im at 80% stats.

The only way to balance RvR is to somehow make devils so so much stronger against int, but so much weaker against melee. Thats not covered by a flat f10% change to all stats and basically requires changing values of all weps/armour in the game.

I think as a community we would like to hear finitos opinion on all this and If it is even fixable / ballancable as he is the man with the skills. It seems we see a lot of these posts with no real answers ever being given.

Without being negative it would be fantasic if Fin/Isy could comment and say if some of these Ideas would be easy for them implement? if they had the time to do it? And are they inclined to implement these ideas or do they disagree and have a different vision for the future or the RvR map.

Otherwise we can just debate and debate and nothing change.

From what I know additional spawns and tweeking drop rates wouldnt be roo tasking to implement and seeing as tho cap raise is a long way off this could be a very quick and easy way to inject some life back into the game

Also as another idea could the crafting success rate on conti be increased from the tyt/pand to reflect the risk of crafting there?

And could more/better items be added to the minton shop as this would also encourage farming in Conti
