DIscussion about % - personally it felt like tonight was a good % balance, lvl 80+ humans weren't getting 3 shot by capped devils which makes attending pointless for them, and devils were able to get blown apart with teamwork from humans. The strongest people on both sides died a lot, and everyone had to be careful of the other race but also not so scared that it was pointless being there.

However, really disappointed with devils for not attending more. We all know that we need conti, yet it seemed like quite a lot of devs turned up, died a few times, then left. When in reality we could 100% have won this war (I'd have guessed it was equal in power balance) if the devils who turned up and left had actually stayed. We see the same issue with humans when devils are on higher %.

How do we make it so that people want to attend war. and stick around and fight a tough battle when the % is against them? They are currently scared of losing their POS?

I've seen people suggest mag spawns in conti a lot, since the 10% bonus for exp is of no use to the majority of the players who are capped. Perhaps - as a trial and because adding new spawns is probably time consuming for devs - could make it like +5/10% drop rates for people who win conti? Let's see if that boosts attendance.

saw your comment before u logged, id only just got ingame, wasnt home for the war

the % dosnt seem to far off, maybe it should be capped at 70 minimum , so attempting to win wouldnt lower our % next war, as to win on 70% we need equal numbers as humans , or where over run

make it so the % increases faster than it goes down, having to wait a week before it goes back up just makes ppl not attend

i dont rly care about mags, mainly as im a melee char and it anoys me swoping back and forth for bow for whelps, maybe a mag spawn on conti with no whelps

I'm not sure you can remove whelps from mags, it's such a reduction in difficulty and effort-for-reward. Having said that, the life of a non-archer devil is so brutal there that it is deeply unfair.

The issue is mostly that despite this % seeming really balanced (I don't know what humans think?) people from both races only seem to want to attend when a crushingly easy victory is guarenteed. That war would have been AWESOME is devs had attended in force, and could have gone either way. There were 5 minute continuous battles around the blue zone, fighting in the streets of conti castle - if you got isolated against humans and stoned you were a gonner, but if you worked with other devs you could kill anyone. Perfect - but people turn up, charge 15 humans, die and go 'screw this, broken %'.

There's no point even having conversations about balancing RvR if people won't turn up on fair-but-challenging %s - this applies to humans too.

The only solution I can see is making owning conti so ludicrous (currently it isn't because capped ppl dont need 10% lvl speed) that everyone is willing to lose pos and feel underpowered to try and get those 2 stones against the odds.

Good job with the vid Strelka. Good fun to watch and as I’ve mentioned to you, your pvp vids played a role in me giving soma another go.

I’ve gotta say that was probably the most fun I’ve had at any WOTW. The back and forth group fights around the safe zone seemed pretty well matched, I dropped some people and I got dropped by some people.

I 100% agree that there needs to be some incentive for capped players on both sides to want to come to tough wars, these wars are way more fun with bigger numbers on both sides obviously. I feel like if even 5% increased drops was offered along with the +10% xp bonus then we’d see a lot more people turning out for these more challenging wars. A Conti mags spawn wouldn’t be a bad idea either IMO, but I’m just trying to put another idea out there.

Nice vid.

Have to say it wasn't that bad at all, we needed around 8-12 more on and we would have won.

Team work was also key, you can see that in your vid. Good game, hope you're there next time, hopefully I will be too!

3-4 more capped devils and we would have had an amazing war, lots of good fights regardless, and % is absolutely fine.

Best fights in/around castle as always, no wall of pre-casts you have to run into like blue zone :(

also don't believe people are worried about losing pos so don't turn up, who even gives a fk about it? just afk on sacred stone for 30mins if u want some pos ......

It's just like...what purpose is there to talk about optimal %s and RvR balance when humans/devils run away from fights that aren't massively in their favour.

What would be pretty fun is if every month there was a wotw without a blue zone, only a castle option. That way you fracture the fight into many areas of smaller group pvp and force people to cooperate.

If you spawn in and fine yourself isolated, run until you find support to group with and turn back on your chasers. Move around as a small group until you find another group. Fight in castle terrain where you can feather behind fountains and nuke from behind walls, block bridges and camp doors.

No more running out of the blue zone to get met with 5 x 4th bows from devils, or 10x pre-cast DBs. No more legging it to the blue zone to kill the fight, but rather force people to run and look for help like proper pvp.

Such a trial would be a massive success, I think.

I don't think so - no blue zone and only 'random spot' castle warps supports small group teamwork and coordination, which are things humans have the tools and experience for.

if the % was capped at 70% for devs id of attended, going down to 67.5% seems pointless to me, as you have all said 70% seemed balanced, I agree its fun at 70%, we will be on 70% next war and when we win we will stay on 70%, I like going on T6 raid and that would be impossible to kill any humans at 67.5% as its bad enough trying at 70%.

You say that the drop to 67.5 suddenly makes it poiintless, and therefore not worth attending, but how do you value that?

For me, the fun of WOTW is having some proper RvR, long extended fights where I'm at serious risk of dying but also able to get kills. Excitement comes from knowing that if you get caught by a 5th stone and focussed you're gonna die, but if you move and target carefully you can kill people back. That was available last war. We killed all the strong humans there and we died a lot in return. It's not about being able to 4th and hit humans solo after charging into a wall of them and tanking them, it's about cooperating as a realm.

So what's the downside to going on 67.5% that doesn't exist at 70%? I don't care about POS (especially as we can farm it at SS) and it costs me like 50k in repairs and serums (at least humans have SR concerns to justify not going).

my point is that its pointless winning not fighting.

Sideways step to pick up on the mags issue, best solution I have seen is that whelps are delayed exploding for a second at target, that way you 100% need to be on the ball watching for them but stand a chance of not dying by smashing them with your range 1 wep before they get you

Isylver was on the other day and was talking about putting some epic quests in conti. To make conti more lucrative.

Something definatly needs to happen. Although it is getting better as devs are down a low %.

No race can win without their capped players, capped players don't need the 10% boost.

So we need ideas to get capped players interested. That's the main reason they will go.

For both races:

Possible new weapon auras? With untradable items like horror eyes. But only from conti mobs.

A mag spawn? As that what capped players hunt.

5% drop increase? As capped players are only after gear now.

A kill counter? At the top of the screen as it adds up kills like presents from Xmas and mysteries from Halloween. Maybe every 100 devs/humans deaths on conti a boss such as shak or mbl spawn there? These are the bosses which drop end game gear. So That's the bosses end game players attend the most.

On top of the auras. Make them rvr based. So humans aura could be a +20 att aura, and devs for instance could be a big md boost for 15 seconds?

THat's a REALLY cool idea, but I think it's too open to exploitation. Could easily feed and manipulate kills with alts and so on - and it would discourage people from making bold plays. Someone has to lead a charge out of the blue, whether its devils or humans grouped out there, but would be less willing to try and take the beating if they know they are feeding a boss spawn.

I think, sadly, that the best way is just to make conti give what capped people want - better items or drop chance. Quests would be a solid idea, but quests that involve mobs currently on conti don't seem too attractive to either race, since it only has leveling mobs there. Hence mags would be nice - get people wanting the map, using the map, a focal point to raid if you have large numbers of raiders.
