Firstly thank you for the new spawn in conti, the Drop's seem better to me and the barr is definitely better :D

I would like to start a discussion regarding Magmas attacking style, Is there a reason int is there primary attack method? as a melle archer i have to get up close which is absolutely fine but then magmas still every 1/10 hits use int at range 1, dishing out 100 dmg per hit on a char with 110+ Int, Could i ask why? I do feel they are bias towards melle, Which is ok i suppose cause melle chars can still farm them but not half as efficiently as mages.

I'd go far as saying if finitio removed the MA at range 1 it would help a hell of a lot. I can use 160 pots in 30 minutes at mags where as a mage can tank without pots all day long. Im not saying there unfarmable... Of course im not im just saying its a little wob sided lol and im also not saying make them melle based mobs, Im just thinking a little tweeking wouldn't go a miss?

Id like to know everyones opinion on this. Please dont turn this into a trolling thread tellin every melle char to make a mage lol

there supposed to be a hard mob.
having int damage done maybe once or twice at range 1 isnt much.
a capped mage will have almost there entire hp drained by time they kill just 1.
where as a melee char will have barely half there hp used per mag.

Im not disputing its a end game hard mob? Where are you getting your information that a mage full HP drains per magma? You talking about tanking naked?

i have watched many mages frost winding multiple mags at once and not even having to heal afterwards. What Bird describes is correct. mags are a purpose-made int mob and the melee nurf the GMs provided has improved the lot of melee chrs significantly, but melee is deffo still not even close to being on an even par with mages when hunting these.

Basically impossible for mags to be the same difficulty for all classes

I assume they are meant to be farmed by a small group of 2-3players for maximum efficiency. So having issues as an individual isnt to be unexpected.

For example a melee doing mags on dsoma is absolute cancer. But when i work together with an archer who can kill whelps and magus for me. We kill mags much faster than 2-3 people could achieve solo

at 163 int without MD gear using proc/ma. 1v1 they almost take full health to kill.
at 170+ str using fast sword barely used 35% of health to kill one

i have seen people tank 3+ at range 1 but not at range 2+

Meele magic will devastate mage farming, as they will start using physical attacks which will interrupt magic casting.

It is hard to satisfy every one.

Lure one by one and run up to them, heal yourself with spells between fights increasing your hunting time.

I agree about this, but the problem is not that they are hard or tricky, but that for some they are much less hard than others.

Clearest example is dsoma - a devil archer absolutely murders mags: easy pull, run into melee, dex every hit, pick off whelps from range 7 and 6 hit magus. If you miss a whelp charging just 4th it for an easy kill. If you get stoned you just have to pot more while attacking. You just have to pot int damage and pay attention to whelps.

But a melee devil? you gotta constantly have f10 open to switch weapons, you can often have whelps come at you and not be able to switch in time, magus take much longer to kill because the switching/their movement and are a real problem. And when you get stoned out of range 1 its brutal and infuriating.

It's not impossible for a melee devil to do mags, it's just that an equally geared archer can probably kill 100 in the time the melee kills 50, and with half the clicks and effort.

Having said that, I don't want GMs to think this is bitching and complaining. I think mags are an EXCELLENT addition to keeping the game alive at lvl 100, you work hard and get rewarded, you dont just zone out and grind like leveling but have to stay engaged. It's solid game design. I also thank them for putting a conti spawn in to give a hub/focus point for RvR and a reason to try get conti for capped players. I love that they encourage and reward group hunting and coordination.

on a side note: anyone confirm as fact how much better conti mags drop?

Barr is deffo better, Most whelps drop 8-10k. Drops as all mag hunting is touch and go, One day your loving life the next day your hating it haha :P

The only thing that needs to change is stone. It’s utterly bonkers and a mob shouldn’t have that power.
