"S0RCERER"Why don't more people train INT?
Is there this resistance to doing it even though it's the most logical approach to being more competitive?

It's a long game v short game approach.

INT destroys at this point, and has done at all previous wars, but people who are maximising melee training (A view which I hold) are gambling on the fact that with fast upgraded 130 skill weapons and huge str differences they will be able to slaughter fragile glass-cannon mages.

Considering how absurdly fast INT is on hsoma, there is nothing to lose by doing INT.

A lot of hsoma mages train INT early on so that they can actually level their str/dex quicker as rested goes a lot further when you're a higher level.

Result? They'll have more INT and gain STR faster than your pure STR player.

Also allows you to take on most of the bosses far sooner.

It depends on how much you are able to calculate. INT is hugely bloating for your exp (so yes, you get higher level quickly - which is nice for rested) but there is only a finite amount of exp a human can get.

Given that it will be impossible to cap both INT and STR, If you get level 80+ with heavy INT you may find that your only option is then to remain INT till the cap because if you start melee wep training (especially something like sword or knux) you will end up far from both caps and a fairly pointless jack-of-all-trades character until the level cap is raised. It's much safer (in my view) to cap your STR and then fill up your levels with INT to mitigate damage than it is to hope you can still get decent (120-30?) STR with the few remaining levels left after you have 150+ INT.

It all depends on what you want, so yep - I wouldn't disagree at all that if people wanted to be powerful ASAP in pvp NOW then they should focus INT. But those with the eye on the long-game and prefer melee just need to look at how Leo demolishes mages with his 50 STR advantage and fast bow. It's completely disgusting.

There is also the issue of drops. If you are a mage you will get >500 frogs from 10-150 INT but thats about it. No weapons, no gems, no armors. It's especially a problem when you consider that eva is pretty useless now too. Whereas melee get onto Leivers, Palus and BLG which drop nearly everything.

So yeah, there is no right or wrong way to level - and INT is certainly best at the moment, but these reasons are why some people are leaving their >100 INT leveling till later on in the game.

AS INT faster and you seem to level faster when doing INT thats the reason why im leaving INT to late, so at higher/longer levels go quicker between each level.

Personally hate doing INT and im quite happy to level str/dex at a slower speed soon or later, although im leveling on rested at mo as i craft.
