Tiered Crafting

I was wondering whether it might be possible to implement a tiered crafting system so that crafting & upgrades were a bit more accessible throughout the levelling process & for new comers.

So under this vision the noob crafting items would require less skill to apply and be more commonly dropped but could only be used to upgrade lower level items.

Just a thought.

Why would u waste upgrades on low level items tho ?

Or do u mean a weaker version of upgrades on lower end mobs ?

Either way i personally think it's a lot of the gms time wasted when you can just lvl up and get onto the full upgrades

I do think dsoma needs more valuable items (frog for example) and these could drop from a couple lower end mobs

Rubys from wbm are great for lower levels to trade with higher levels

To clarify - I mean have the equivalent of Inferior Delight Tab for example & have it as a more common drop that requires less crafting skill to apply but it can only be applied to lower tier items.

The point would be to address the very issue you raise - upgrading is essentially only worthwhile as an endgame mechanic just like pvp atm.

I think a big turn-off for new players is the fact that lots of the games mechanics rely on a long grind commitment before they can be accessed.

If this were implemented you could enjoy one of the games main mechanics without a 3 month grinding investment and imo retain more new players.

But surly wilst your levelling your aiming for new gear, u only realy need to start upgrading once u hit the last armor ingame

These now quite a few quests ingame that gives tabs

Plus how would u make a inferior delight tab when DT are 1 dex/ theres no system ingame that could limit the upgrade to lower end gear

Plus tabs dont need any skill to apply

Well for example if you were a spear user you might get up your crafting skill & make a faster lvling spear - the problem you are describing is contingent on using a DT on lower items being a ‘waste’ since it is rare, that wouldn’t be the case it there were a less rare, less valuable version available.

If it is impossible to implement fair enough - I still think it is theoretically a good idea if it could be achieved.

Could quite easy bring in a lower aza pill, that removes less recoil than a normal aza pill and make them more common for lower levels

Tho still think with current levelling speed it would be a waste of time as u would be on the next weapon prity fast

Think a big boost to low levels would be making the first gen soul boss's more common so low levels can get souls for the rings, as there quite worthless once you get a devil fiend

You could be right but personally I think you have a distorted view of the levelling speed.

Sure from your reference frame it is fast but imagine a guy who only has a few hours a week to play and is an ABSOLUTE beginner, first character & never played before not even esoma, from that perspective I think getting to the endgame content is quite daunting and having the ability to use more of the games mechanics along the way would be a welcome change and may help retain more fresh faces.
