The role of untags

Does untag gear still serve a purpose?

The lifespan of a typical piece of gear as i see it is as follows:

Chance of gear to drop
Chance of gear to be tagged
Chance of gear below intense as a candidate for combine
Chance of gear to be upgraded

I think we can agree that its a long process to get yourself the gear you need.

and i will be honest the main reason this discussion is prompted is because i have had several untag drops which are of no use to man or beast.

the impact of tagged gear at least in my opinion varies depending on the type of gear.

Armor - particularly with evas tag doesn't overly matter.
Accessory - Where like warp necks and hero rings the impact becomes higher with the prospect of adding upgrades to a higher baseline to work with
Weops - unarguably weops have the highest impact on tagged loot for the dura, the att and the recoil.

untags serve to delay the lifescycle of gear and of late with fighting the level of mobs i am, i find it frustrating that i not able to even have a chance to obtain them.

ive asked and campaigned for item drop review with no luck. so im asking about tag review instead.

If they removed untag weapons from boars for instance they would have to remove combine, definitely something that needs tweaking or looking into, maybe just a buff for hard tag things to drop maybe?

Iv no issue with untags, there in every game for you to npc, cant have all drop that are worth stuff

My only suggestion would be to up harden tags a little

It's just so disheartening when you have a really bad hard rng run for long periods

I also don't think it follows that removing untagged means anything for combine.

Combine is brutal in particular when you do roll the dice trying to get epic or Int.

The fail rate seems around 70% and in dsoma I honestly thought it was worse. I concede I haven't done the math and admit hard rng obviously plays a part.
