As a pot crafter it's always frustrated me that even though you can make tanning to extract to beans to make MP pots, you don't have the option to craft anything that extracts to sesame seeds to make HP pots.

The items that do extract to seeds are only dropped by mobs that can be hunted to around 85-90 str or 70 ish int.
So these items have become very hard to get hold of in the numbers required with-out sacrificing stat gains.

Please can we have an item added that is craftable that extracts to seeds for HP pot crafting?

1 Large Liver will give you 300 seeds.
1 Amber will give you 5 seeds.
1 Skeleton Knife will give you 5 seeds
1 Werewolf Tail will give you 5 seeds.
1 Golem Eye will give you 5 seeds.
1 Golem Piece will give you 5 seeds.

Plenty of the mobs that drop these things are hunted regularly. Buy them =)

People don't bother picking up the things listed and the ones who do and are willing to sell want too much for them. The price of making the hp pots, taking the cost of the blue flavour into account as well as buying seeds, becomes too much to be worthwhile, especially so if extracting seeds from large livers.

This is exactly why golum eye needs to be added to alt gems which will also help make flesh guards. On esoma d3 dw's were hunted into oblivion which resulted in untold amounts of amber but since we hardly have anyone down there its getting hard to get them in real quantity. Alot of players also like to hunt for a long time and wont pick up weighty stuff too.

if added to alt gems they would have to give lots per gem to be worthwhile

When I'm doing a HP pot craft I need 1000's of seeds, not the odd 1 or 2.

IMO it would be better to create another form of tanning, say red tanning.
Then we would have one which extracts to beans and one that extracts to seeds. the new one could be 6 or 8 wood to make, as the current tanning is 7.

Thing is scoin is that if it was an npc bought item then everyone would only be using cakes. At least the gems drop rate isnt bad and that would mean 5 cake tries per gem so you can expect 3 cakes or so per gem on average.

doesn't have to be available from a npc, could be only craftable.

currently you can buy tanning from a npc which extract to beans which are used for +100 Mana Pots or used to make Mana cakes.

whats the difference?

ps, hunting in the farm for the amount of alt gems I would need just wouldn't be an option, it would be a severe waste of % and detrimental to the char.
Hunting for a few gems for the things available in the gem store for prepare etc. is fine. but for things needed in large quantities its just not viable.

The hp cakes could be considered op in comparison to mp which is why tannin was available in the first place for an unlimited source of beans as was jerkey and rice. I would be happy with unlimited seeds too but it could affect balance. We will need a GM to post his thoughts to see how this will turn out. I can only assume if an item was craftable that we would want 50 seeds per extract?

I would happily have more humans use +100 since I don't think there's any devils who don't at WoW.

Why 50 per extract?
if the item was craftable like tanning is then it could extract to the same amount of seeds that tanning currently does to beans. (6)

IMO having beans so easy to get for MP and not having seeds as easy to get for HP is another example of how the server is biased towards INT.
Not only do humans need +100 hp for WoW, they need them to have a chance to out pot the OP int dam cap.

personally I just want to hunt with them again, Ive got enough +100 MP to last a life time but even though I have well over 100 pot skill I am unable to benefit from the skill in terms of hunting with the best HP pots available while doing str due to lack of seeds.

Tanning can be bought for 90 bar in TYT, to craft them it takes 7 wood per try, so at an 80% success rate they cost 87.5 bar each to make. from those you get 6 beans, meaning beans cost around 15 bar each.
to make +100 MP pots costs per try
15 bar for 1 bean
20 bar for 4 livers
20 bar for 4 horns
80 bar for 4 blue flavour

135 bar per try so at 80% success they cost around 168.75 bar each to make.

Skelly sword sells to npc for 250 bar and you get 5 seeds from them, making the seeds cost 50 bar at npc prices. To make it worth while people will want more than 250 each, making seeds even more expensive.
ambers sell to npc for 200 bar and give 5 seeds making the seeds 40 bar each.

even if you could buy ambers for the price they sell to npc which is unlikely, the cost would be:
160 bar per try and at 80% success rate makes them 200 bar each.

They are already more expensive to make even if you can get hold of the items to extract into seeds.
The price isn't the problem at 200 bar, the problem is that its impossible to get enough items to extract at these prices.

A new tanning that extracts to seeds if available at a npc should be expensive, at least twice the price of the current tanning if it extracts to the same amount of seeds.
If its craftable, it could be made from 14 wood per try which would keep the cost to make them at what it is now, The only difference would be that the option would be there to make these pots, because currently unless your under 95 str and/or under 71 int or have money to burn you cant get the mats to make them.

Players will go through alot more mp cakes hunting than they would hp ones at min damage so i personally dont think its biased just more realistic. The yield would need to be dependent on the materials of the item that extracts.

Nope, just that practical experience shows that devils always +100 pots (from the shop) whereas humans rather go for cheaper pots.

at min damage? I take it your hunting wraith still?

With the change to eva on this server, as you get higher and hunt harder mobs to get str stat gains you get hit harder and harder. Many people have chosen to play two chars to deal with this, one being a healer.
Believe me, unless you want to play two chars at the same time be prepared to burn HP pots while doing str if you intend to hunt optimum mobs.

In any case, for the purposes of this topic, I'm referring to +100 Health Pots not cooked cakes, even though seeds are needed for both.

If your worry is that everyone will start using them and in some way create a balance problem, the new craftable item which extracts to seeds could have a high skill requirement to craft.
