These Crystals have been in the game in Vod for months now and it seems nobody is bothering to work out what they do?
Here is a picture Of the new boss https://imgur.com/a/6fpDf Me and somawizard are trying to figure it out, but it needs more than just us to find out how to activate these crystals!

No it''s not lol, i guess you never watched the trailer that was included in the double xp event? Where it shows the crystals turning red which i can only assume then spawns the new boss

Some of the crystals activate when touched, I ran around the map trying to touch them all but after the first 2 I got no response.
Dan did mention cryptically about the other world quests but no idea if that makes any difference. My guess there would be some combination of time and sequence to spawn or prerequisite completion of certain quests to activate some crystals.

Maybe you all need to click the crystals at same time and when you do it you need to do the ritual of old indian shaman man which is stand on one leg , in one hand you have a dead rats tail and then click the crystal but remember u gotta start jumping on the one leg and flip that rat tails around. Might work. never know.
