Strange problem with dual monitor.

Author Content Date
Hi guys.

I recently decided to try to start dual screening, so I could open up two clients etc. I've run across a strange issue that I can't seem to solve.

When I run one Soma window, it works perfectly, whether I have one active monitor or two.
When I run two Soma windows, they both work perfectly as long as I only have one monitor active.

The problem is arising when I try to run two Soma windows, but with both monitors active. Anytime I try to open the somawindow.exe shortcuts (i.e, the times I want to run 2 clients), I get some strange graphical problems. I get pink squares all over the character selection screen, and all of the colours are off.

Again, this is only when both monitors are active. I can dual client on one monitor no problem, but I'd like to be able to dual client whilst having both monitors active, so I can use the other one for other things. (I work from home, so monitor 1 being 2 Soma screens and monitor 2 being for work programs would be the dream lol).

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm running Windows 7 Professional. I also have the colour scheme already set to 16 bit, to allow the dual clienting.

Thanks!

When I want to use one client, I run my "main" Soma client with larger resolution (1400x800), I run it from the standard launcher.

But when I'm wanting to run dual clients (800x600), they're both just shortcuts pasted to my desktop from the soma folder. Basically there was a video posted on this forum about resolution / dual screening and I just followed that step for step.

I thought it all had worked perfectly until I tried firing up one of the dual clients with my second monitor active :(

I did do a search a bit earlier on and found a few issues cropping up with Windows 8 & 10, but I wasn't able to find any information about any specific instances of it not working correctly on Windows 7 -- other than requiring Service Pack 1 to work correctly, which I already have

I've not tried running a VM on my 2nd monitor, do you think that would be worth a try? I've tampered with just about every different resolution, colour and compatibility setting and nothing has fixed it, sigh! Lol.

try to open the main launcher with small window, then set aside it, do not open any char on it... then run your 1st char on 1st somawindow.exe then 2nd char on 2nd somawindow.exe, graphics issue will be gone. But eventually when u use the somawindow.exe for a long time, there are chances that u dont need to open the main launcher anymore with no graphic issues.
