The Old Soma Emporium decorum

Can we as a community get some decorum with regard to selling items on the forum.

It really grinds my gears when people post they are selling items and then go and sell the item in game, or do not ever reply to a thread with the outcome of the item. If you are not going to sell based on a forum bid do not post the item is for sale there in the first place. If you are going to accept in game bids at least have the decency to update your thread to show this and give the forum poster time to bid again. Not everyone plays in game 10 hours a day.

If you are using the forum to sell items have respect for other players who are bidding. Perhaps a format of sales would help others out such as;

Item stats
Date bidding ends
Quick sale price
Your anticipated/minimum sale price - eg 3 frogs.

Thanks.

Can't say I have ever done it, but posting on the forum is a good way of identifying an items potential value. The seller can decide how he wishes to ultimately part with that item. For example if a winning bid is by someone I would prefer not to sell to, I may wish to either QS in game or sell in game to the second highest bid.

I do agree its nice to close the thread out by stating it's sold and what it went for.

Well yes, ultimately it is up to the seller how they part with their item. Though if everyone (or even the majority) were to use the format mentioned by Shatter, it would be so much more efficient, get better prices on avg. and attract a lot more players to use it for sure.

Atm most posts look like this -

Selling DB
Bids in frogs / herbs pls

[Edit] Sold in-game to anonymous (after 1 min)

There's a reason the ebay style system is so huge.
