Red bull... metal (barr sink)

Author Content Date
Was thinking about barr sinks earlier, and i know this might get alot of negative attention, but here goes!!

How about being able to buy rested XP for 1 hour a day..
It would need alot of thought to implement i imagine, but roughly...

Scale it to level brackets, drop rested XP back down to level 20..

21-30 .... 100k per hour for the buff
31-40 .... 250k per day
41-50 ..... 500k per day

etc etc..

I know people dont want to buy xp, but it would have its advantages...
Want to lvl a human / devil alt? use your barr from rich human / devil!
Also, make it so expensive, that people have to start selling for barr again, instead of trading for livers etc, because barr is useless to them...

Again, needs alot of thought / input, and alot of people might just think.. no

P.S you'd have to call it red bull metal, because its a chocolate barr that gives extra energy for an hour a day :D

It's actually quite a good idea.

Was rested exp not brought into the game to bridge the gap between those who can play a lot and those that cannot?

Buying rested exp in game defeats this objective.

Yeh i understand that, but at lvl 30, when your reated ends, how much influence can you have on the game, atleast this way it gives you the option to lvl that little bit faster, to get more people to gvw etc, and it would also be quite a handy barr sink..

Anyways, just a suggestion :)

The current implementation of rested xp achieves the opposite (higher levels benefit from it much more). I do like this idea of buying rested with barr, but maybe make it available to those under level 65 (or somewhere around that) only.

But level 30's don' t have a spare 100k or more laying around. :(

Not to mention dsoma barr vs hsoma barr. If anything it should be based lvl (quests?) or stats.

Though I don't think we should add it at all to be honest.

You'd be surprised, Ghostlord. It's the low levels that get all the SGs on DSoma, and people are willing to pay loads for them right now.

Not sure about HSoma, though.

I don't think it should be implemented but there really needs to be a bar sink sooner rather than later as bar is pretty much useless unless your crafting or on int

If you want a handy bar sink try wbm's unless you bum the humans and or your name is 187 and has farmed mino's on multiple chars then you will become skint even using a mage to heal you, you come away only making like 10~20k profit then you have cash drains like shiro/gvw/wotw/pvping slowly but surely it starts to dwindle away

plenty of barr sinks in dsoma, probly to many unless you make alts just to fund ya main char (or bow hunting)

currently running on about 200k left, but if I realy needed to I could make another mage just to farm EGF. but why should I be force to make alts to farm anything, (same problem with new craftin, not going to farm anything on my main char)

Problem with Hsoma is not a lot of you go wotw which is one of the biggest barr sinks for dsoma 200k easy each wotw if im not being conservative with my pots

GVW is also a big barr sink but a lot of ppl refuse to turn up till last 10 mins (can waste even more than Wotw here with how many archers there is)

I attend GVW and wotw because I enjoy the fights (sometimes think a hour is to short)

Really don't get the whole Barr sink thing at the moment, when u start int u lose loadz til wraiths, potion/cooking u lose Barr.
Unless your 70-90+ or craft arm/wep and maybe acc now you don't really make much Barr.

High levels and crafting will always have more Barr

Server only 6 months old, people ain't mega rich yet. If u wana Barr sink just increase pot prices, people will always need potions

You can make weight 1 pots which are a cheaper alternative to +100's but you don't need to craft pots though, cooking you break even from 30 skill onwards and make a good profit from 60. If you increase the price of pots it will hamper the new players who want to play. The higher the average level of the server the more need for a bar sink there is, if you hunt BLG for example with a healer with SR, your making nothing but profit

Rested should be lvl based, i.e the higher you are the less you get,

Additionally an idea to help players catch up, with each level+ present a quest to gain XX rested

So atm lvl 1-30 free rested exp
lvl 31-40 - Kill 200 giant spiders to gain 75% rested (repeatable until lvl 40)
lvl 41-40 - Kill 200 Sand crawlers and 200 desert scorpions gain 50% rested (repeatable until lvl 50)
lvl 51-60 Kill 500 Valkrye gain 25% rested (repeatable until lvl 60)
lvl 61-70 - Kill 2000 bears 15% rested given (repeatable until lvl 70)

Dont think above 70 should have it, as they benefit from normal rested, but i would think if it was, something like.
lvl 71 - 80 Kill 5000NM / 2500 shanis (repeatable until lvl 80)10% rested given
Lvl 81-90 Kill 10,000NM / 3000 BLG (repeatable until lvl 90) 10% rested given
lvl 91 - 99 Kill 20,0000NM / 10,000 BLG gain 10% rested, repeatable

Numbers are just rough figures, but the idea is, to allow the lower players to catch up easier, while also utilising mobs that are totally unhunted.

Thoughts?
