WotW and GVW times

Let me start by saying I have no good solution for this. I live in the USA. Currently the WotW is held on Mondays at 3:00pm EST and the GVW on Tuesdays at 3pm EST. Unless this is changed, i'll never really be able to attend either as I work first shift until 4:30, monday through Friday. I realize that there are players in all different time zones: Europeans (BST), Chinese (CST), Americans (EST), and Koreans (KST). A simple time change on these events will help some players attend, but hinder others.

My temporary sugguestion, until we can come up with a better method, would be to move these events to Saturday or Sunday. There's a much better chance that many more players would be off of work if it was Saturday or Sunday. And being Saturday or Sunday, it wouldn't matter at all what time the events are held, I would be sure to attend. If it was in the morning, i'd be up for it. Late at night? I'd be on. etc.

Thoughts?

Yeah I can see your point, I live in the UK so 8pm start time is great for me :) I think a saturday/sunday event would encourage more people so I'll back your suggestion.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Not sure about CN/KR players but if this was held morning US and early evening EU it'd allow those that plan to go out to attend also.

I'd +1 to this.

However, there are in effect 4 events. 2 x GVW 1 x WoTW 1 x Sacred Stone event.

Which two should be made weekend?

Someone loses out somewhere.

If GVW was every Saturday at 2pm GMT (9am EST for Americans, and 9PM CST for chinese) how many of you would be able to attend? Also if WotW was Sunday at the same time?

Azumi you could probably run both GVW simultaneously?

If that could be done then its definitely worth considering it. Gvw Saturday, war of worlds Sunday and sacred stone event a couple of times a week at different time zones.

of course if this is only going to benefit half a dozen international players but then hinder a dozen GMT players its kinda null n void.

maybe iSylver or Finito can clarify on wether its even worth a discussion though?

It is worth thinking about for sure, I haven't made up my mind myself because I quite like this system where it changes every time.

Event dates can be found here:

SS isn't in there since it wasnt sceduled at that time. I believe it's the day before WoW.

Any suggestions on time changes will make it better for some and worse for others. Unless there are multiple servers running (NA, EU, AU etc.) you will never find a time that suits all.

Personally, I like how event times change every week. If WotW and GVW ended up being weekend only, then I can say goodbye to ever going to them (I work weekends). With the current system, if those events ended up being on weekends, it is not a problem as I know I'll be able to go next week (or the week after next).

When I made this thread I was under the impression that WotW was every Monday and Human GVW was every Tuesday. Now that I'm aware that it changes every week, this is the best way I can think of to do it. Although I will only be able to attend 2 out of 7 events, it ensures that everyone can attend at some point.
