RDT proposal - Dsoma

Thoughts on RDT giving 1 str and 0.5 con (i.e. 0-1) per +1? continuing on at 1-1 at +2, 1-2 at +3 etc

At the moment they seem kind of redundant as most people just use POD instead...

Would bring back some trading between classes, maybe open up options for others.

Seens as a DT gives 1 defensive and 1 attacking dex...I really don't see the harm in it.

or try and bring in droiyan type drops.that have multiple sspecials and sopts if the itemdata packet can be extended. would make stuff more interesting

I think its better to split att dex and def dex in f10 and upgrades.
Mobs also have split dex why wouldnt chars have the same

From dsoma POV - Ignoring axers for now I think the overall defense at the moment is as balanced as it can probably be.

It's already hard to drop any target and and if we make RDT also provide some defense - I know that everyone will start making RDT set and ignoring POD. I mean for sure everyone will want extra defense.

If we want a str,con combo maybe making it very rare and something along Fringe's idea?

P.S. I have spoken to few archers in the past including Manticore - for archers they much prefer STR gear so it is not redundant, especially since you can make it +8?

If we are going to implement a duel Str - DF upgrade I feel this should be a new drop so we need to make new gear

Not a change to benefit people who have ready made gear. It's very easy for someone to make a suggestion to benefit themselves based on there gear

I could say let's make POD also give a % chance of DF instead

New idea new drop please

Whilst we are doing this we could make ToWs give int and magic defence...this is reversing a previous update that has been made and I don't think efforts to reverse it would be worthwhile and justified.

Agree to an extent, but tbh with TOWs would a mage really benefit from the extra MD other than in wotw where they already do fine with MD?

I got your point ibex but it put me to another line of thinking, a mage upgrade could be nice eg % chance of cast not being interrupted
Or pots across the board that could half the regen rate of auras (obviously harder to acquire than just pot vendor)
I used a Rdt set on another char and binned it off for a number of reasons, dex gave more survivability and most chats use pod now for attack for the chance of dealing big enough damage and catching people out to drop them, flat rate is obvious and no unpredictability about it so easily out potted

Btw I wasn't suggesting my idea was the best idea possible, just think they have become redundant.

@ Afro I think manti was trolling you, don't think an archer would use rdt over DT/POD mate, unless they have parts that are several ups higher than a POD part.

But again that was kind of my point, IF only archers are using them...need to be made useful for other classes, maybe something other than 0.5 con would be better, keep suggestions coming.

I like the ideas deimos but I think they would take quite a bit of work to implement and like I mentioned in other post. There should be a price to pay for being able to 1 bomb folk on occasion.
If you look at it from a developer perspective though. Is anything currently broken? Are certain classes suffering massively through balancing issues? Would suggested changes improve EVERYONE'S soma life?

I would say yes, sword and nuk seem to have died out imo, but I dont know enough about playing either class to be able to suggest any improvements
Which is why everyone is seeing people as wanted to 'buff their own class' it is because that is what they know best, not necessarily biased it's just what they know and from that pov they can see improvements neededp

But back on point yes I would say rdt could do with being changed dsoma side, 1-1 attack isn't enough compared to the pod alternative any more, when it was attack and def like dt's still are they were much more desired
The issue being I dont know what adjustment would be reasonable

How about this - and this suggestion is for DSOMA as I am not sure how this impacts hsoma/

RDT stays as it is 1-1 but what we get introduced 4 new items that is compatible with RDT

Similar to Large Ruby + Mare blood we can get
RDT + Item 1 = item 2 which if upgraded successfully gives you 1-1 attack and 0.5 physical defense
RDT + Item 3 = item 4 which gives you 1-1 attack and 1 magic defense

This way RDT value will shoot up, it will not be advantageous to existing items and most importantly will keep people coming online to hunt/grind items.

Let's keep it constructive as we may get somewhere with it if we do.
