Rested for new players

Author Content Date
With most mid-high levels leveling on rested would a rested review for new players be an issue? Perhaps level 45 or so.
The time it takes to get to Lvl 30 on rested doesn't provide a whole lot of time investment and can be binned easy enough. We need to get players addicted prior to quitting!

Just a thought to encourage new blood.

From previous experience the amount of free rested XP goes up when there's a big patch / update. It has been upped recently.

Yeah it was.
Just asking if it could be reviewed and what people's thoughts on it are to encourage more players to get sucked in.

I agree, as a new player i've spent 128 hours ingame to get to level 42, it is quite time consuming and i love soma but its hard for a 9-5 job, however since the recent update to level 30 they have surpassed our stats due to that, so if this is done may i suggest perhaps some sort of adjustments for players who have been very close to the limits for rested so they don't have a disadvantage ?

I personally think this would encourage a lot of people with rested being higher and once they have passed that they have put the time and effort in and realize how the community is and stick with playing soma.

The amount rested is up to could just be increased a little faster.

Highest chars are 90+, There are numerous 80+ but the majority I would say are between 60-80 atm.

Considering rested goes up to 30 atm, thats not very far or long either. It could use increasing to 40 maybe.

The other alternative I can think of is to make rested % generate faster at lower levels. Right now high levels benefit the most from rested, rather than helping the slightly more casual player base to keep up.

I don't think the full rested levels needs to be increased really, it's nice you want to encourage new players to join the game and that's cool but 45 full levels of rested? the current cap is level 100 that's nearly half the overall cap played fully rested in my opinion I think that's too much.

If anything I'd go with the second idea fujitora suggested and maybe increase the full rested levels once the overall cap is increased.

Yeah fujis suggestion works. I've seen a lot of new players recently. Would just like to see a little more help to ensure they are snared.

The number 45 is of no real relevance, it may be almost half way to cap but realistically speaking its nothing of the sort.
The guy posted above it took him 128 hours to get to 42, (Lets just assume 45 takes ~150 hours)
To get from 45-100 I reckon would take about 1500 hours (There are several age 15 characters already)

In the grand scheme of things being level 45 is ~10% of the way to cap (Obviously most of these numbers are just an educated guess but it should be something roughly like that)

I dont see any problem in increasing the base level that rested goes up to, but whatever works / GMs want to do really.

As said Lvl 45 must be around 5-10% of a players total available exp. however at those sorts of level your character build begins to take shape. You now look cool in gold and sorc hat! And you are feeling more valued at events etc.
would be a nice touch I think to keep hold of the surge in lower levels iv seen recently.

Maybe it's just me, I just don't see the reason to keep handing out levels after levels of rested. I don't disagree with the reasoning behind it, I just think 30~35 is fine.

might aswel double server rates if must level on rested and get rid of rested, ive played from day 1 and only lvl 51, last 7 levels ive leveled on rested but that through choice, once i got to 95-100% rested i crafted for 3 days then level for 1, but as i dont play more than 3-4 hrs a day its stil slow but im in no hurry.

I believe 30 is enough, new player need to get used to slow downs before they hit the big ones if people cant handle the rates after level 30 with no rested then they will be in same boat at lvl 40 if not worse.

Quicker to level 45 just makes pos farming even easier, does it not? Sorry to seem like a pessimist(sp)

I got to 70+ in under 650 hours(yeah plenty of int) but hours from start until now, it isnt exactly to time consuming and level 30 is 30 lvls more than originals got :)

Although i won't object if it does come in as it'll motivate me to make a devil mage an archer for 45 lvls of easy mode :p

Good point actually, never even considered that.
