decent waffle as usual .. good listen....

dropfile reworking would be more attractive for new player/ characters for sure...

as regards capped players.....dipping in and out for jus gvw maybe.....i think...all they want is more levs and stats.... hopefully thats being worked on, and the new levs take a lot longer to achieve than the last 10

Sure gvw, and big pk fight is a group thing...but i believe soma is still a more or less solo- played game..( cud b im jus a miserable git ) id guess most ppl play 95% of their time here solo levellin up/ farming at various times of day... more drops ye ye..and i still think a slight increase of the anvil success wud be useful too... 25% ish success added onto what it is now..isnt gona result in a huge number of +8 weps either..just a little less disappointment

yea, significantly slower stats at next cap increase. drops as a whole need upped/reworked.

when i was devil i got a legendary drop my 1st magma back then for the entire 9999 quest as an axer i got very little.

as a human spending 4/5 hours and getting a few frogs/eps and usually a ton of untag weps is demoralising.

i play to relax n focus. upgrading can and does affect this and can make u log out for days sometimes longer. it wouldnt be so bad if you could give it another attempt in a week rather than having to grind months to try again

Really appreciate the podcast and the ideas.

I think I’ve said this before but please don’t try to understand how easy or difficult something is because you once made a pirate server. The DB/files and tools are completely different if not somewhat unrecognisable now. It’s a little insulting 👍.

Still think dsoma drops could use a boost. Dont know about hsoma as i dont play it.

Also note: the percent drop doesn't work as you stated on the podcast. It's a percent per item.

Technically a mob could drop 20 items at once if it had 20 in the drop list. Drops don't effect each other - so there's no need to remove items.

didnt that change mean it will roll every item but stop when it has an item to drop? and does the way it check for items start rolling from the lowest % item to the highest % item.

then there was a change to max number of items mobs dropped so it would roll again if it found an item to drop first time? thats why most commonly you will get double drops from mobs.

maybe increasing that to 3 would help rather than actual droprate % increase?

Isylver can i get a confirmation from you?

is there a level cap raise in AUG? and if so is it another 10 levels or 20?

Nope. Works differently.

One thing to add the CTF droprate boost lasts all week until the next CTF.

We're hoping to increase cap in August depending on our availability.

the max dropped items was changeable between every spawn. assumed bosses were set with a max drop of 9 and normal mobs 2 now which is separate from barr that also drops.

maybe changed when new system came in. when rolling for drops does it roll each item individually then?

Yup, we don't use the monsterset table at all for drops - it's been coded very differently.

Great pod.
Already said I can help out with the drop files. I could either do the SQL work, or even if it's a case of doing the boring bits, i.e, spreadsheet with item and mobs names for Dan to review...

would it be possible to add a buffer of sorts to the lower % drops to increase them slowly (per day / per 1000 killed)
until 1 drops and then it resets?

putting a bit of meat on the bones here...and some frank talk.......... u both talk about playing for a year....oo such a long time...and ur gear is maxed out..and u just dont know what to do...its so boring...and u cba to do this and do that.......
plenty of ppl here played 3-4-5 years and got nowhere near maxed gear.
Your arrogant , and blase attitude about oo0 12 mnths...its so hard...... makes me err..... well.....

lots of players here 5 years on.... nowhere near maxed out gear..... and they are keeping the uc going.. trying to make that gear..its the maxed out players..moaning/ whining.. nothing to do..nothing to find.. nothing to make...well.....
