capture the flag suggestions

This event has become some what of a joke and its not a fun event either, there needs to be a couple of tweaks or its pointless to take part if you have lower numbers on your side.

Make a time limit on how long you can hold the flag on 1 character.
When a point is scored everyone warps back to their own base it stop people camping the flags and picking it up as soon as it generates.

Any others ideas? Not been on in ages for this event but was thinking this last time.

The time limit thing isn’t relevant. Two or more (even a group) could just pass the flag between each other.

Either way it’s nice to have a RVR event not completely dominated by devils

You keep saying that but non of you really attend any RvR so how would you know, and how do you expect to compete?

Personally -

1) Make the event 30 minutes only and not an hour. Its too long.

2) Remove the inability to cap if other race has your flag, as a race just stonewalls a flag once they have a good enough lead. (Shown in todays CTF).

3) Make map boundaries smaller, in fact just have 3 channels / ways to enemy base/flag so people are forced on each other and its doable to have some reasonable defend/attack strategy.

Most of us have repeatedly attended. But gave up because we just can’t compete unless a capped mage it’s that simple, I really don’t understand why people don’t understand this. If you guys tine double shot bow with 2 archers, even our tanks can’t handle that

Timed shots and mages, this is a ctf thread, please keep on topic, the % system is different on CTF then wotw or ss, hiding in the corner holding the flag for 35/40 mintues surrounded by like 9/10 people is just boring the idea is to have fun.

Arya, people are comparing this to wotw because this is how humans feel about wotw. Both are a numbers game and that's how they both can only be won. If CTF is changed WOTW needs changing too.

devils won ctf for far too long also previously lol. lose it a few times and moan about it wth

Humans have a habit of warping away 10 mins from end of wotw rather than grouping and charging,
Also lordgd tanked plenty of devs tonight without dying, just nobody rallied around him to help stop the devs that were attacking
Also a big difference imo is some human builds would rather watch eachother die than team up against devils, dsoma seem to unite a lot more when it comes to wotw

But as Arya said, any power issues arent relevant for ctf
And the auto warp back to base when a flag is gained sounds a very good idea

devils where winning constantly as no humans came, just as humans won this week as barely any devils attended, just a shame that you hid the flag away in a corner surrounded by 10 or so others, makes it boring, never seen dsoma do that but if I did id tell them to stop it myself.

Ah so when there's an event where devils don't show up we start threads. As soon as there's a thread about wotw humans get shot down?

Just on top of my previous suggestions. I think respawn area should be opposite to where they are. E.g. Human spawn should be south of their flag and Devils spawn north of theirs. So players can more readily go on the attack and defence and not have to run 'back into the action'.
