Why do people always want their character to be able to compete with every build imaginable?
I'm a mage, 1v1 against a melee char is pretty much out of my grasp unless I get the drop on them, even then it's dicey. In a group though mages shine, and each class has pros and cons. Can't beat a pure bow character with 160 dex when you only have 120? Well why were you ever expecting to using melee o0 Hypothetical example of course but it seems people want total balanced builds and stats and that just sounds boring in my humble opinion. You can't build a character to tank the stone AND expect to be great in the pvp scene AND be great RvR, doesn't work that way.

I was seriously considering starting a human
But if no matter what you do at some point everyone ends up with the same stats I won't bother, it's like a primary school sports day |

If +50, healing int, doing con early etc etc make no difference regardless of class chosen each type of build end up at the same point in stats at some point it makes it pointless doing anything other then easy mode
So many maps, mobs, bosses, weapon classes builds what is the point if everyone wants to be equal Pick a weapon pick a build pick a levelling path and see different results For this reason hsoma appears to be going the same way as dsoma I'm not sure I will ever bother until it gets changed to same as dsoma and cap in under few hundred hours I want a challenge I want to spend time and I want an option

I wouldn't say everyone arrives to the same build. It does vary by a few stats.
Those few stats + your actual gear sets are what separate people. We're all waiting for that one thing that makes people opt to PvP/RvR with melee rather than bow. Like we're all waiting for that one thing that makes mages more durable in a GVW but also not make them amazeballs too. Anyway as for a challenge, level solo, without multis and without hand-me-downs and getting your own evasion set, then accuracy, then proc, +5 weapons or even +8. That's hard enough imo. If you ask me, its up to each of us to set the kind of challenge your talking about. An axe char gets minimal dex but has all the utilities and auras to make it great for solo levelling and even PvP. So everyone naturally goes for a accuracy set, something that's incredibly expensive to make/buy. At some point though, with bow training you can skew the needs for accuracy and go for different set items, slow/red pods etc? A spear char gets a little more dex with little utility apart from 2nd spear and 5th spear for hunting, spends its life compensating for no defensive ability so can be torn for eva/acc but hits VERY hard compared to other classes. Could further that with red pods to make it devastating once dealing with eva/acc Then if you get into or make a tight knit group you could each excel into a certain proc/role type. PS Healing for INT is here to stay, its capped at 100 INT and although you see a lot of chars in huts, not that many are actually doing it. The benefits are, apparently, marginal. GM's confirmed it pretty much.

Knucks is deffo a good option.
Funny to watch bow users get annoyed in duels also as they can’t keep up with weapons like this [Intense] Hoarde Hands+5
Attack : 52~56 Weight : 11 Durability : 5004 Speed : A+(404) Req. Str : 100 Req. Dex : 88 Req. Skill : 141 |

[Intense] Hoarde Hands+5 Attack : 52~56 Weight : 11 Durability : 5004 Speed : A+(404) Req. Str : 100 Req. Dex : 88 Req. Skill : 141 need to bring a recoil cap in imo, you should not be allowed to go below 500 imo but thats me |

MISERICORD |
"ROKEN" That just nerfs weapons that rely on speed and buffs weapons that will never/be very unlikley to reach that speed. The only way you could apply something like that fairly is applying it as a % across the board. Base HH/Pan speed is 750, 500 is 66% of 750; So going forward with that, you'd have to cap stinger for instance at 726 recoil in order to make it fair. When you look at it like that its not quite so attractive and i'm sure there'd be quite alot of upset bow owners out there ^^

What misercord said.
Besides you shouldn’t use mine as an example for all, it’s very fast for a +5 (faster than some +6 i’ve seen) I’ll still get dropped in seconds by someone using a 2h sword or spear |

A cap on weap speed should have always been in place imo, some weps in hsoma now are just ridiculous
(Yes it would be a max of x amount recoil taken off original speed to keep everything is order) |

with new wep tiers all old ones will be less used. hopefully they cap then at +5/6 upgrades
