Seasonal Items - Rewarding the Active Users

It's a relatively easy concept to get your head around to be honest,

Every update the game has a new title, for example "Shadows of the Cesspool" (the current one).

I thought it would be a good idea to have X (x being an appropriate number) amount of limited edition items that can reflect the current phase in the game - it can be :

-an armour piece,
-an accessory
-a weapon
-new materials for crafters perhaps?

I'd say to make them un-tradeable and achievable only through a chain of quests - quests that require dedication and can be as basic to talking to NPCs to possibly killing hundreds, or thousands of monsters.

Currently, if this idea were to go through there might be a ghastly or deathly theme in game. Perhaps a re-coloured and darker version of some bone armour of some sorts?

Also, it's up to debate but I don't think that these weapons should be used in PvP - mainly because I think that these items should reward your grind for the weapons and simply because a limited edition item would cause an imbalance in PvP, and more basically, it could just ruin the current balance - so it could possibly only be used for PvE; but it could be used to grant 10% more weapon skill, or 10% more experience as a base upgrade?

I know this is seen in many other games, but for good reason. Please don't flame the idea, but instead try to come up with some constructive criticism. Thank you.

That's a good idea. Almost like a loyalty item.

I don't know if GM's would dedicate a distinct colour armor piece or weapon for it, but if they would, great. I think Black Banded would be great though or something easy. We could request this to our fellow Somarians to make for the GM's to use and save them time.

They should maybe add an NPC and any character that has over 300+ hours logged in that 'update' or 'time period', is allowed to claim a untradeable item. Once that expansion/update has passed, the item is no longer attainable.

In this update, it could be say "Cess Pool Emblem" and as long as you hold it in your inventory it will reward 5% HP regen or 0.1% drop increase. Something exceptionally minor but still useful to hold in inventory rather.

Elf armour / jack pants kind of did that, although you could take it further, winter edition bone helm or something lol

Having a temporary NPC to accept and complete potential quests, or attain the object would be nice.

I recommend having it available for 30-60minutes after, for example, Sacred Stone to hopefully get more users to attend and just to show more activity in general.
