90+ INTonwards

Author Content Date
I know that you GM's are very busy and have your fingers in many pies.

But just a quick one. Hunting Nightmares from 90 int until 175 is just nuts.

Honestly, just nuts. I thought BLG was a long time but at least they dropped things but it still wasn't some 85.0 whole stats.

Can we either have a alternative mob, a modernised drop file, or valk shamans are made usable before 175 int :)

Green prisms works for me :P

I'm nearly done with nightmares finally, but the grind would be made easier with the odd tow or a CT being able to drop.

Like BLG have DT

Things get missed and overlooked or seen as not as high a priority. I'll take that as a +1 then Cupid. Cheers.

Valks give exp much slower prior to 176 Int though sadly and therefore are not an option for a player wanting to get to the cap.

I just finished at NM and can say, in all honesty, I never want to spend that length at a mob that only drops frogs ever again lol...

A few times along the way I had to have 4-6 weeks away from Soma and go play something else just because looking at NM for 800+ Int increases nearly drove me stir crazy.

It would be lessened if the spawn was increased, half the issue is when there are 3+ players hunting you end up running in circles picking off stray mobs and it exacerbates the whole issue.

Even if there were nightmares but with a different skin, elsewhere in game, it would shake things up and allow a reprieve.

NM and int in general is the worst part about soma. How the GM’s haven’t looked into their drop file is beyond me. I refused to do Int after I got 166 on Mitchy, what a ball ache that was 😳

For context are you guys not using prism shadows? If so why not?

prisms only good till 89 if you want todo the -30 int route
or 109 for the -10 route

i think a slight look at drop file and maybe a 1 reduction in range of spells and a lower respawn cool down would make it alot better for mages who need to hunt nightmares

Yeah the wide conception is that you go to NM around 89 int, which does make the prismatic shadow experience quite short.

A boost in Stat XP for prismatic shadows making them viable until 125 INT would be good? At least then Nightmare would be on a par with BLG. Just without any drops apart from frogs (and med jades) :P

+1 Prisms spawn is really good, it is just their current short window of max usefulness that lets them down.

The current lvling landscape for int looks like:
Wraith to 35 int
LL to 62 int
Prisms to 89 int
NM to 176 int

I would propose:

Increase LL int by 10 so you do LL to 72
Increase Prism int by 20 so do prisms to 109

That way you cut out the worst bit of NM and also increase usage of Prisms.
