Ok - First of all I'd like to get one thing out of the way. I have absolutely no Idea why TYRESE is even offering his view on double rates / drops if the character you're using and the gear you're using all belongs to FLICKTHEBEAN (MEANING - you didn't have to go through any hardship to get your hands on a good character (which you fucked up) and great grear).
And let me tell you this, I read this whole thread but every time I saw your name I got cancer reading what you had to say and repeating yourself over and over again saying that you think "it's greedy" or whatever. I can tell that the people with a greater understanding of the game and a greater concern for the game and community write more than four paragraphs so can you please stop posting in this thread because you have no place here since clearly you have nothing constructive to offer apart from salt.

Oh and secondly I didn't see you moaning when DL were the dominant guild for the longest time and Ghostlord who was clearly corrupt and everybody knew it was spawning them bosses and clearly un-banning their chars so they could have their gears back I could keep going about Ghostlord and you being a hypocrite and a troll with no insight nor any constructive Ideas to offer and if you was still playing your own char, you'd be begging Dan for x10 rates because you're atrocious at this game... ANYWAY, with that out the way.



I 110% agree with LUPI and NAKEDMAN, for anyone who has played this game for more than five thousand hours, they know what it takes and know how many hours of grind it takes to get those items that you require, WITHOUT PAYING PILOTS, WITHOUT BUYING GEAR.
The harsh reality of this game is that it's only desirable for those who have played it before and for those who can put hardcore hours and farm and grind for days on end. I would say that 99% of the UC are players who understand the game and players who have played other Somas. And the underlying reason on why NEW players quit the game is that the grind factor they have to go through in order to build a good character and to then upgrade gear is too much, LET ALONE to SUCCEED in upgrading.

I strongly think that allowing new players to reach level 100 or 110 much easier is the way forward and furthermore maybe increasing the success rate of upgrades to avoid players quitting because they broke something is a good idea, OR as FRINGE suggested, make it so that the item doesn't break but still adds the + next to it. But also I would like to add my idea which is already in other games and this would be for the DONATION STORE's benefit and the player's benefit.
My Idea is allowing players to buy a normal stat character from the STORE (e.g in wow you can get a 110 boost for $80.00 ( £62.00) (€69.00). Now this character is not a super noob that everyone wants to make with 100INT from healing afk in huts and dex/str from spamming aura AFK somewhere. Maybe allow players to buy a level 100 with normal calculated stats set by default by the GMS and your options would be either MAGE or MELEE (now it would be up to DAN / FIN to calculate how much STATS they will give to this char boost) but I think that allowing players to buy a level 100 account from the store is a great way forward for the community and you still leave 20 level of grind left for them to do.
And for the Anvil issue I think we can all agree that it's our worst enemy, even having 200 skill doesn't mean much and in fairness it is absolutely not worth the grind if you do not get a substantial increase in %success rate at 200 skill hence it takes so long to acquire - take Matty and Flick for example, Matty tried and succeeded to upgrade a +7 bow to +8 and for that reason he stayed playing but if he had failed he 100% would have quit as Flick was the unfortunate person among many other who QUIT THE GAME because they broke an item or items.

Furthermore what my very good friend DEAMOND is trying to suggest is the IDEA of making the double rates/ drops event a weekday occurrence with perhaps an announcement the week before - BECAUSE as he is trying to convey, the vast majority of our UC comes from players with FULL TIME JOBS / FAMILIES and other RESPONSIBILITIES that may not be able to play weekends because of personal reasons and may find it easier to play after work, after dinner when they want to relax and do some good old hunting. WHICH I find a very reasonable and great suggestion to give. Anyone that think's it's "greedy" is quite wrong in my opinion.

Also +1 on whoever said rested is gained to slowly, I recall them saying in six days he only got about 80+% which I think that's quite low. I am pretty certain nobody wants to play the game when they have ran out of rested XP as the grind becomes unbearably longer. From a personal experience, I go play other games when I've ran out of rested because the game is no longer fun for me and I would rather wait till the next day to level a further 15% then rinse and repeat.

Anyway if you got this far, Thank you for reading and I hope I've given some great insight and Ideas for the betterment and longevity of this server.

Lol, are you are upset nite?

Firstly, I’ve capped my own chars which I then gave away. Secondly I joined the server and DL after the Ghostlord issues (sorry to shit all over your argument). Thirdly I’ve spent just as much time as any of the hardcore players farming and breaking items, just because I’ve had a lucky break with a friend giving me bits doesn’t mean jack shit? You could say the same about how Matty, Cupid and Rocky1 have gained all their gear in the early days of them playing? Atleast for the first two years I was completely solo and didn’t have any hand me downs or flicks gear.

Get a grip, or take a break you’re highly strung over a game 😂

Firstly any player with decent gear now, it’s safe to say 9/10 of them are the result of hand me downs. So many players have quit, are you saying they can’t give gear to friends? They just gotta let it rot for years? Name any well geared player, and chances are hand me down items.

Secondly, there have been many good suggestions over the years and I think the best ideas are as follows

1) for all items, if upgrading the first +1 +2 and +3 are “free”. So if you fail the item just gets returned back to you, but the upgrade gets used. Then after +4 and so on current fail rates and the anvil works as normal.

2) There should be new upgrades added for basic items. Toes / Acc / eva / CT and DT. These should work the same way as the old counter parts, but should have 100% upgrade chance but only be able to stack to +2 or +3. Any item with these added cannot be upgraded higher.

3) I think combine should be removed for any new items added with the patch.

Forgive me for making a suggestion that would help players who cannot attend weekend events. As you can see by the posts there are people that do struggle to get on at weekends.

Take my conversation with my pal the_d0n last night he has been playing for around 2 years and iirc and just hit lvl 100 as he has a full time job 12+ hrs a day and has kids and doesn't get much time to play and extremely difficult to get on the weekends, despite this he still enjoys playing soma and surely people like this deserve the chance to catch up?

It's not all about me, Yeah it would be nice to have the double xp as i haven' been able to attend but this is about other people too.

As I’ve said previously, Dan does what he sees best for the community. If he wanted to put a double rates during the week he would. What I’m saying is, we’ve ALL just had two weekends in a row, regardless of how much we got o to play or not. Having a thread made a day or two later asking for one midweek is being greedy. Wait a few weeks, let dan get the patch out the way then bombard him with demands again...
