Donations to play

Author Content Date
Would you be willing to make a monthly weekly donation of a fixed amount that everyone in every circumstance could afford to continue playing this wonderful game we all adore?

If this has already been discussed apologies

No.

I am happy to make purchases from the donation store.

I would be open to the idea of a regular donation but would only consider it if there was transparency on how much was being donated and where it was being spent. I.E server cost or Gms billing 10x hours to make and implement new content.

People who donate and by how much should also be published for the same reasons that political parties do so.

What OCD said. Would need transparency on the on-going costs and then the costs attributed to other things and even the direction of the game.

On another note, I'm aware of quite a number of people including me in game that work in IT, so may be able to help with hosting of the game server otherwise, definitely the website...

Again, I think the player base expects iSylver and Fin to pocket some of the Donation money currently, so it wouldn't be a shock or horror for most people. So would be happy to see a hourly rate or something that's put into GM's time.

I normally chuck £10 a month be it just a donation or buying rested pots or whatever.
But honestly if everyone that plays donated £2 a month (less than a coffee at costa/starbucks) I don't think that would be to much of an ask

Exactly i mean we paid £6.47 a month 15 years ago to play Esoma and never had a cap rise of all this wonderful content or a gm who you could contact easily. Funny how people want To know where the money is going only when you ask them to pay. Why didn't you ask this before?
This to me is our chance as a community to get behind Dan in view of his change in circumstances he's already said he won't be able to fund all the bills on his own for this.

I would happily regularly donate to play, but I think the community needs to be given a goal each month, with a page showing how much has been raised etc.

This would either show that we are pulling together or be a sharp wake up call when we see hardly any funds going in.

The most valuable thing in life is time, and we have taken up a lot of Dan and Fin's time, a few months is okay, but 5+ years has taken a big toll on them i'd wager, financially and mentally.

I'd pay if they showed how the money was spent and got an active gm for d Soma.

a more active gm/advisor for both world thats on most days would be ideal but finding a trust worthy person who can be impartial and able to keep there own identity separate would be a tall order

I think the only impartial GM I have ever seen on a game is Fin and that's because he doesn't get involved at all in in game politics and crap that goes on.

Dan seems to be doing a fair job as far as i'm concerned.

Ghostlord is on what, once a year?

I think it shows - just constructive criticism which i'm sure has been made 1x10^6 times before?

I would pay (and play again) if the low level content was made more engaging. If I could hunt more than 1 mob to level and had different drop opportunities depending on what I hunt. If there was an active and transparent development plan from the GM team. If the GM team was expanded (fringe has my vote) and there was an active forum mod / hsoma/Dsoma advisor.
