Two handed axes are meant to have a horrible low min attack but biggest max attack out of all classes.

Why would anyone use two handed axe over a A+ knuckle with pretty much same attack?

These need a good 20% boots imo

Spear seems to be highest attack when it should be axe

think with MM or new axe they would be useful with the blue gem added and using speed up aura but there attack needs to be good enough to justiy it

Int mm shud have like 75-100 dmg really when you look at what intense gores and pans have

Axe on dsoma is similar issue imo, same with spear though, swords have insane damage, on par with axe while spear lags behind

you could say.. well axe has 5th and gives u free reign to beat the poo out of ur opponent for 10 secs ( ish)....so axe aint too bad

Clearly someone needs to calculate DPS for a range of weapons, and they need to be brought inline with each other? (excluding bow obviously)

What jet li said =) I would think it will produce (dsoma side)
Slight increase min and max on nuk, bigger increase on min and max for spear and an increase on axe but max only

As for staff, ma on all staffs across all of soma seems low ish to me when compared, though the new wave of staves seems promising (havent seen any hsoma ones if there is one?)

*edit: be interesting to see intense versions of new weps for a good comparison

be difficult to work out the true dps with different auras and effects.................... someone stoned for 10 secs is doing 0 dps for 10 secs.... dont think u can measure it with anything like true accuracy.
In fact... factoring that into the equation..... axe is seriously op.. well, 5th axe is

DPS has already been calculated and posted on here for untagged weapons.

And, bow came bottom ... stop suggesting nerfs for bow.

Calculating DPS is pretty easy. The few things you need to consider:

---Attacker---
AverageAttack - Just get the average of the min and max on the f10 screen (don't include PoD gear cause that messes with the F10 numbers; PoD gear is slightly worse for DPS than RDT gear btw)
Weapon Recoil in seconds (e.g. 516 recoil = 0.516 seconds)

---Defender---
AverageDefense- Just get the average of the min and max on the f10 screen. The only aura you should consider is 2nd axe as that adds a flat amount of defense not visible on the f10 screen (I think).

You'll also need to consider the HitRate. I'll leave that up to you to calculate. Fin posted how dex relates to hit-rate on some thread a while ago. Evasion and Accuracy adjust the HitRate AFTER dex calculations. Hit rate is clamped between 1% and 99% after these calculations. We'll treat HitRate as a fractional value (0.01-0.99) because it'll fit more nicely into the equation this way.

DPS = (AverageAttack-AverageDefense)/Recoil*HitRate

So if we have these numbers:
AverageAttack = 400
AverageDefense = 300
Recoil = 0.516 (516 in game)
HitRate = 0.8 (or 80%)

You'll get:
(400-300)/0.516*0.8 = 155 DPS

EDIT: Btw, I'm not suggesting we should balance weapons based on DPS alone. Auras and range advantage play a big role.

There's no point calculating DPS for untagged weapons. You should look at F10 stats when doing that because overall attack, defense and hit rate play a big role.

Also weapon skill multiplies the attack value on weapons, so tagged weapons will naturally have much higher DPS (more than "indicated" on the weapon itself).

Jara,

I didn't do the DPS comparisons - someone else did (might have been Qiang?). I thought it was a very good exercise. I get your point about the tags but, surely, the ratios stay they same (ie. tagged axe vs tagged bow)?
