Biggest QoL change for Soma.. Erosion

So picture this...

All high level / capped players say they want drops... trading is none existent in some respects.

The Anvil is evil... everyone has stories to tell, bad and good but still people want their gear.

Well how about you can have your drop increases... but you have to let SR erode 1% (or SR to 99%) of the armor/wep/jewellary your repairing. So a 6k dura knuckle would lose 60 dura on its first SR as an example.

This means, your gear will over time....become defunckt and you'll need to replace it, meaning you'll have to be savvy about it.

Heres some upsides for the economy

+£$ sellers of items will lose some value, if not disappear from game
+People can sell GREAT gear but with bad dura.. making it usable for others, it'll be obviously cheaper
+Current super rate items can more easily have their drop rates increases
+Current super legendary upgraded gear will either become trophys and not used, or will disappear and break.
+Breaking gear at the anvil won't feel so bad if upgrades are more common.
+Would force people to think about adding dura upgrades and even other upgrades than speed. (Get more damage per hit = dura efficiency)

PS Credit to Qiang who mentioned it. I thought of erosion before but only for barr.

This just rewards the people who can dedicate there life's to the game and makes it even more of a ball ache for new and casual players.

On paper it's a fancy idea but in reality there's much quicker, easier and simpler tweaks that would be much more effective at making the game more enjoyable.

Atm there isn't even enough active players to effectively test something like this.

The simple answer is new armor and weapons that are better than the previous ones so ppl have to move on

Currently only small increases in attack and the effort to get a new weapon to the standard of the current is just to much

As well as the amount of upgrades one needs to start from scratch

It may seem alot of work on the gm part, tho I'm sure if asked ppl would submit reskins for them to use

There simply needs to be a boost in the new items i.e shak weps/troll bands etc so hardcore players make new items and non hardcore can buy the "older" ones for cheap

But atm even with improvements its going to take a few years for this to happen.

imo. all the work the gm's have done, and continue to do is great. We have a hardcore of players that will be here forever.
The future lies with getting old players back who mayb were 1st gen, unhappy with their stats and now consider themselves to be so far behind both in stats and gear... the thought of restarting is just too big of an ask.
Possibly a huge speed up from lev 1-100 both in levelling and craft speeds.. make 1 x sr at 50 skill .. 2 at 100 skill etc etc... add a buff to the anvil.......make to level 100 nice n easy.. get old players back making new characters if they wish...
Making things easier would sure be a help for any new players too. Atm a new player would spend a couple of weeks here and ''fcuk me, this game is tough'' would be the words on their lips.
There's been talk for months if not years about ways to get old players back..yet doesnt seem to be many returned ppl. Mayb this would be a way to incentivise both old and new players.
Soma has always been tough.. designed for generally hardcore play and ppl not afraid of the grind. With so many of the other games now made to play for qwik levelling, and generally a much easier system than here.. mayb time to go with the flow, and just make things a lil easier here x
We play here not for graffix. or the greatest of gameplay.. but despite toxicity, banter and some overthetop chat.. we play here proly more for the social/community aspect. More players = more community.... good, bad or inbetween.... its the social side of things that make things tick over here.. i think x

On the other hand... mayb there's just a load of lazy asses that need to stop whining and play more x
