Dsoma weaken quest

Anyone have ideas how its done at all, ive started it at the box in hwan and have 200 unknown stones that i can trade in for magic pouches 10:1 ratio at zarith, but no idea what todo from here onwards and cant get hold of a gm at the moment so any help be appreciated, thanks.

There is no quest line or anything to hint

There is currently no way to get weaken on dsoma.

Yeh :[ hopefully it gets put back in, i heard there was a npc in dungeon that gave u a quest to kill shiro in the test server, maybe it was just forgotten about.

Right, time to start thinking about a new quest then. Personally I like the stone collection part so I'd like to keep that.

Kill 2 inguits to shows you're hard and impresses the NPC who warps you to Merc to Muller 25 oomans before returning to him to get yourself some weakening skills!

Collect unkown stones
trade it in

Collect solid cloth
trade it in

Kill shironim

learn fireball

skill to 50 blue skill

learn weaken.

I see this Solid Cloth drops from Elite Gargoyle Fighters. Do you only need the one on a redicilous drop rate or get loads ata normal drop rate, like unknown stones?


As for Shironim I think he's too hard. Noone with under 130 int (mage) can solo him without spending over 5 hours. I'd like to change that part, or even easier nerf Shironim to be made for the quest. His DMG is very high and is surrounded by a constant spawn of Elite Gargoyle Fighters, making it one of the toughest bosses in Soma.

My thoughts are, first of all; Why do EGF have weakening? They didn't on the test server and I don't remember having that on any other server - imagine doing Shiro while being weakened. Please correct me if they always have had weaken.

Secondly; because it's such a tough boss it should stay tough, which is why I would opt for a HP nerf. A 100 int mage has like 170-185 MA. Shironim has 170 MD meaning 1-15 damage a hit (do realise that as soon as more mages get weakening they are bound to help others, so you can double this damage for future mages). With a current 32.000 HP, that's an average of 4.5k hits for a 100 int mage. A 110 int mage could do it in 2k hits, etc. I'd say change his HP to 10-15k. SIDENOTE: There is only one Shironim ingame, changing him for DSoma would ALSO effect HSoma, which we don't want for now.

My third option would be to change the quest - exchange the Shiro part for a different boss or different quest even.

On yet another note. DSoma mages have been given weaken but always the weakest version. Lvl 1 weaken doesn't have enough range for end game. Also because it is a human spell everyone recognises its casts,making it extremely hard to cast it in (RvR) PvP. I'd like to give them level 2 weakening in the future.

I hunted egf for a long time and the drop rate on the clothes definatly seem'd alot worse than the stones from gargoyle shamens, so id expect that part to be less if its going to be in the quest at all though.

In response to ghorlord;

Devil Mages in Esoma only ever had access to level 1 weaken, to which I also thought it was a hinderance due to its range.

Elite gargoyle fighters never had weaken, they have no reason to possess that spell, it makes hunting them and consequently Shironim much harder than it even needs to be.

Shironim was and always has been strong and has taken more than one run to kill.
I was only able to solo him having full Shadows Set with a Staff of Shadows-L from Mystical Warlock Ultimate Negamare.

The boss isn't designed to be a solo experience, however in his current incarnation, he would seem to be quite a tough cookie even for a group of 10 people to take on.

I suggest keeping the EGF there (they act as his guards) but knocking his INT down a bit coupled with removing Weaken from the EGF.

As far as Solid Cloth goes, I seem to remember the drop rate being pretty low and needing about 40 of them?

That said, nothing ingame comes anywhere near as rare as hunting to learn Negamare's Infusion (Not implemented in this version of Soma) where I hunted for 3 months straight at Fallen Seraphim to finally have the quest item drop for me.

Not sure where the weaken on egf came from, they havnt weakened me once ever? or is this only the ones down near shiro or something, if not then everything is fine right now

If u r hunting bottom right in dung it's more then likely it's shiro weaking.
