Thoughts guys? As we aim to encourage more PVP our thoughts were to remove the safe zone. However, we’d like to hear your thoughts first.

Sounds interesting, how about trial for a few weeks followed by community vote

I said in another post in suggestions why not redo the castle map? get rid of the forest area and block in the gates, have a small safe zone just where the warehouse is. I think there is some sort of feature in the middle.
Easy fix, Relocate the the spawn in points random within side the walls relocate safe zone warp, ] use babysitters to block the outer wall opening on wow times.

wouldn't removing safe zone makes it more difficult to spot the other race? as a human I would just use teleport me to random spot and hide for x amount of time.
If we reduce the wotw fighting area - limit it to the castle only (anyone outside castle gets killed as normal) then it might work :)

I think it should be kept. It gives noobs a chance to see some action and the battles for who controls around it are pretty fun, if it’s taken away I think it does more harm than good tbh.
It's great to see PVP getting some love recently though. |

There is an element of "sanctuary" with the safe zone. None of us much like the idea of losing PoS and this is a place to "chicken out" and preserve it while still being at WotW.
With Sacred Stone there is an opportunity to gain PoS without losing any - that "opportunity" exists at WotW while the safe zone exists. There are other factors; some devils have huge DEX (well beyond what is possible for humans) and even when they are depleted to 65% they remain vicious killers against (almost) capped humans. Running around without a safe haven in Conti is akin to being locked in a cage of unfed tigers with big, nasty pointy teeth. The same is not true vice-versa. Also, of course, the Safe Zone acts as a muster point for both races. The best advice might be; Trial it and see how it pans out? 8) Prowler

He has a point, could potentially keep the safe zone but limit who warps there, keep it for lower levels (this way they can get involved earlyer As for the higher levels warp them to the castle, block the exit, tweak the castle map as theres one side that you have to run all way round (please don't just limit wotw to throne rooms) May be a idea then to add ss pos into wotw, so ppl try to attack and hold the throne room( or a slight tweak , every 15 mins it rewards 250 pos to whos stood on stone, at which point it would announce into world shout whos currently in control of the throne rooms)

Its a good idea, lets trial it out.
Also if we introduce a gift scheme in the format of Christmas presents where for example: 1) Any player who participate in the WOTW and not just stand around or log for 5 minutes. But actually participate for the whole event receives 5 presents. 2) Players with the most kills e.g. top 10 in Hsoma and top 10 in Dsoma will get for example x20 presents. 3) Players who stand on the stone for 10 minutes without dying get like 5 presents and 10 ticket if they stand for 20 minutes without dying and so on. Upon clicking the presents it gives random items, such as: a) DT b) Red pod c) Intense/legendary weapons d) Intense/legendary armors e) Large XP pots f) Rubies etc I think having a reward other then getting POS will push a lot of players to attend even the low lvlers.

The weaker race needs a staging area. There is no way people in different guild would be organised enough to organise them selves in town an warp in at the same time.
Move the safe zone to just outside the throne room. This would increase PVP imo. |

I think the Safe Zone's original purpose is to be an area where the races can group up AND spectate, but currently it's just used to hide and quickly come out to take pot shots before running back inside.
Maybe make it so if you run out of the safe zone and attack an opposing race you are visibly "flagged" and are no longer effected by the safe zone immunity for something like 60 seconds (so running back in is pointless). Basically the same as the PK system you go "grey" when in combat, and safe zone doesn't work when you're grey. I don't think the outright removal of the Safe Zone is a good idea. Something like what I suggested would work better, IMO.

imo the main prob with attendance is lack of rewards.. we're a greedy lot and need incentives.. So at the end of the war.. the losing race gets booted from the castle........ the castle floor gets littered with rewards like after a boss kill.... make these rewards the usual stuff and add in ready made stuff.. like a ke .. a toe or 2... couple of dps etc .... so whoever wins is getting a chance to pick up some tasty stuff.
Maybe thats greedy.... but that's soma players ..incentive and rewards will kickstart the wotw imo x Maybe a new wep or 2 as well !! Somethin along those lines would make it a major event and ppl wud start goin im sure.. And ye....ditch the safe zone .. put 3 or 4 stones in the castle .. like ss...where u gain rp's .. reward points..... the amount of rp's = more rewards at the end for the winning race This gets every1 into the castle from beginning to end.. fighting from the off , to gain the best rewards... every1 likes some rewards x

I'm not sure bout the safe zone bit but the wars I have attended recently the numbers have been fairly low.
Thought maybe an idea to make positive usable is to rehaul the POS shop, I saw something in a private server where you could buy armour/weapon gems. Maybe you could do Hard gem 5k Rare gem 10k Epic gem 20k Intense gem 40k Legendary gem 60/80k Upgrade gem 10k And you could then select the gem and select what wepon/armour/upgrade you want so it's not random and you get something nice for your efforts fighting for your race? Posted seems very difficult to obtain so I don't think it would create a major influx of legendaries or intense weps anytime soon (looking at pos tables)
