"ISYLVER"Another one of these threads. If you want to win you need attendance. It was the exact same when fusion were winning every week.

As for pking constantly there's a reason we lowerred moral rates.. which has caused many devil moral players to moan that it's not easy enough.

Do you want a pot delay on stone or the stoner holders stats are halved?

What I find funny is that if somethings not going there way then it's the GMs fault. Fact is the community are causing there own problems then they need a GM to rectify it.

As I've said before this will be the last soma server I ever run, so as a community you damn well start appreciating the effort we do and start conducting yourselves as respectable adults.

TL:DR if you want a self sustaining community then you need to stop doing everything you can to damage it.

A debuff aura for who ever is on stone so the longer your on the more debuff you have is a good idea.

This wasn't a thread to start EQ hate or disrespecting the work you've done, More to show the pathetic numbers that turned up to this weeks wow and hsoma gvw, it'd be interesting to see dsoma gvw numbers tonight in comparison after it's much needed love. A few of us were curious though, if the usercount had taken a massive hit over the past month or so in comparison to 2/3 months ago? Or is it just attendance to gvw/wow that has taken the hit?

Every mmorpg takes a temporary dip in their numbers after a big game release, this small community will be even more effected. On this occasion it's two big games released simultaneously.

The usercount has dropped marginally. We're still seeing over 120-130 during peak times.

My point is though if people would rather cheat, grief people out of the game whilst doing nothing beneficial for the server the inevitable will happen.

I'd ask yourselves: What can I do to help the server? Something as simple as posting on reddit, getting the word out goes a long way. But I guarantee none of the above will change.

You make a good point. Especially about cheating.

I often find myself playing late at night due to routines 'n' the like. I see a few people hunting around the place that are very obviously botting due to their actions whilst "hunting." (Such as running around in circles whilst in peace-mode until the mobs around kill them.) The same is true of people who leave a macro crafting for them over-night whilst they sleep. It's become a huge problem on this server (botting) as nobody believes they'll suffer repercussions for doing it.

It's very disheartening for legitimate players to see this, which is another cause for the slight drop in users.

The trouble is, even if they get reported, and even if that report is heeded, they suffer a maximum penalty of a 1-week ban, with none of their illegitimate stats being removed. =/

Perhaps harsher penalties for such things would see more people returning and actively hunting, without feeling like they're wasting their time trying to keep up with cheaters who can just AFK to get strong / skills.

Just a thought, anyway.

(Oh, and also: You really don't want the Reddit community playing on here. The Soma community's angelic compared to the children over there. >_<)

EDIT: To address grief-play would require a similar stand-point, too. Harsher penalties for rule-breaking grief-play -- and set-in-stone rules to abide by / measure grief-playing against.

btw i was only naming some reasons why some people have left .. wasn't any complain tbh. / i know esoma was the same

i know pking has always been around and yeh i learned to live with it, but i know some people who hasn't and left this server for it .. and again no complaint from me, just stating a reason why some people left this server

...

There are some (easy) solutions to resolve some problems we issue atm:
- make a level cap on pking others (eg you cant pk someone who is 20 levels lower)
- disable healing in gvw ... yeh why not lets go dsoma style on this :o

And yet again no complaints here, yeh was same in esoma ... just some suggestions to get some more users back

I like them suggestions .. a trial would be interesting..

RE isylvers first post - most do appreciate the efforts put into running this server.. unfortunately negative noises tend to be the loudest (I'm talking generally here not this particular thread)

It's true. To be honest I don't bother because I know as a low level character I will just get 1 hit.

Most people with that mentality never see the day where they're actually strong enough.
