Hello,

For both int and str levelling what accessories do you recommend.

Currently running for melee 2 x ROK and either a OTM or Res Necklace and a Take it Slow earing as not sure what else there is.

Also for magic, I was using the +2 int earing and then just filling with necky/rings to save dura. What do you use?

Mellee ear I use agility earring, they're only 2-2 dex to start but I find it works well
As for magic access I upgrade rings with ct's and upgrade the ma.neck that shanis drop (forget the name) for ma

Ah ok makes sense, I've heard crit earing also being using for melee.

Also you mean warp necky? I've got some of those from prisms

magic u would want x2 ma rings/ma ear/ma neck

There are a number of different ways you can approach this challenge. I would guess that there is a fair degree of variance in the philosophies that surround hunting.

Melee represents the most diverse opportunities, so we will explore that first …

You should take account of whether you are attempting to gain STR or DEX. If your objective is STR then you may not be so concerned with DEX or your DEX/STR ratio. This being the case, you are likely to be hit often by the attacking mob. In this scenario you might opt for the best defence armour and STR accessories (or attack accessories). Keep in mind repair costs and Special Repair costs.

If your objective is DEX then you might consider your hit rate more important than your STR (and, of course, your evasion rate). Accuracy gear (although expensive) will increase the likelihood of you “hitting” the mob. Evasion gear will likewise help you avoid being hit as often. The rates are fairly easy to calculate by looking at the mob’s attack and defence DEX in the armoury. The best you can achieve is 99% accuracy while trying to hit a mob and 99% evasion against being hit.

If you are hunting solo then you might consider evasion is the way to go and load up with DEX accessories and evasion gear. If you are hunting with a party and someone is happy to tank for you (or you use a second character of your own as a tank) you could substitute evasion for accuracy gear.

When you achieve +50/51 DEX above the mob’s attack DEX you have maximum evasion provided you have 20%/21% evasion parts (dodge aura counts). Once you have exceeded that, you can start substituting DEX accessories in favour of attack (or STR). Same applies to accuracy.


INT is a little different – the mobs are always going to hit and you are always going to hit them. All of the above philosophies for STR/DEX become irrelevant. You are going to suffer dura damage on an “un-ending” basis. To counter that, some people try to get to a point where they hunt naked as fast as possible (no dura loss on a naked body). Others choose to load up with throw away accessories to deflect the dura damage away from more valuable items. You could also choose to equip better items to increase INT damage or defend yourself against INT attack – if you do, keep in mind the repair cost or Special Repair cost.

Personally, I used RoFs the whole time I was levelling (with DEX as the primary objective) until RoKs appeared in game – I still do. They can be chucked away when depleted. I never bothered with slow accessories, it wasn’t necessary to slow something that couldn’t hit me (often). I have a modest DEX necklace and modest DEX earring for using when I want to bolster defence DEX (to achieve evasion against a mob) and an OTM and Crit earing for substitution when I don’t need the extra DEX. I also have interchangeable attack pads and top (to change with evasion when it is not needed). I have an accuracy helm that I carry for using at high DEX bosses. Pretty cheap to maintain in repair costs as I hardly ever need SR (except the weapon of course). I did have a very nice A+ speed Apus bow with 3% accuracy but I left it on the floor and the server ate it. Try not to do that, it’s irritating.

For int hunting I set up using warp neck (untag) ghost ear ring, and guard armlets just for the added MD and dura saving.

Melee I would use RoK’s, otm and crit ear.

God yeah tanto! My dex is 155 and with full eva kit I do very well at trolls and boars :)

With int leveling it's a set number of hits to kill a mob depending on the spell selected .
As a result its down to cost and time . Using armour and accessories costs more but is faster on the whole but there comes a point where it's not worth it.
As your int gradually increases the kill rate increases as the number of hits decreases .
Often players chose a route melle first then some int. A few melle mobs give good low lvl int and likewise mages can get Dex from wraith .
