(Dsoma) Not played in such a long time.

Hi all and a Happy new years to you all!
Within the next few days I intend on redownloading and starting up again. I've managed to find my old account details. First question.
I have a Lvl 74 axe on Dsoma, when I left a few years ago it was being apparent that if you didn't pick a Dex class it was almost a waste of time towards the end. Is this still the sentiment?

A friend mentioned stat gains have changed now, said something about a set amount of stats per Lvl? Could someone just explain this a little more? Do you get (example) +5 stats to spend into what ever stats you want?

Has anyone got a d soma leveling guide? If I need to retire my axe I'll reroll but struggling to remember the leveling path/may have changed with new mobs.

Finally, if anyone that played when I did drop me a message!

Cheers all

no need to punch anymore

you'll need to put your points in str/dex/con and spare points in wis

you get 6 points per level and 11 points every 10 levels

If you join 6_N_HalfInch anybody in there will help you out.

Level on anything that is up to 31 str below you, once you are +31 str on a mob it will stop giving you XP.
Roll archer (this is essentially a must now for d soma unfortunately although Axe may also be viable) and do:

Sedlak
Mordant
Mantis
Rotting Corpse
Fire Worm
Grass Hopper
Tark Warrior/Paladin and/or Altered Beast
Kharil Lizard
WBM/Demented Hog
Crimson Apai
Tark Knight

once you get upto 191str don't add more str stay at 191 str as an archer and stay at kl as faster XP and they drop weps.

I think my plan is to stick to the axe char I've got. So a question regarding this new stat change (new to me)
Will I logg in and have to re allocate 74 levels worth of stats? Or will it juit just start from when I Lvl next?
Also can you reset your stats? Is there an option in-game to lose your stats and reallocate?

Cheers

You'll find all your stats have been reset and you should re-allocate when you first log in.

You can buy respec scrolls from the daily mark store in-game or with £££ in the donation store.

As melee class cap str/con/dex then rest in wis (leave int at 5)

You have caps on your stats each level so u can't just add 300 stats to str and no dex ect

Ah so it's pretty much impossible for me to mess things up!
How come you don't require int anymore? Has the reqs to wear int gear now shifted to Wiz requirements? So str/Dex/con then the remaineder of the points in wiz

yes, as on dsoma int = magic attack, and a melee char has no need for magic attack

same for mage chars, they don't req STR as armors now have con req

It is worth noting though the stat allocation is not entirely flexible for example there is a cap on dex as an axe user, you will never have the same amount of dex as an archer, punching has just been eliminated, depending on your play style depends on which class to be.

Axe can be viable end game thanks to expensive armours like accuracy sets but keep in mind this can be expensive and hard work to make.

Archer will always be the main PVP and RVR class, however 5th axe and sword are very strong when at things such as GVW.
