Hi all,
Re-downloaded the game for the first time in a few years and played a little last night. Asoon as I tweak the resolution I get almost constant crashes. Is there a way to make the game look less 20 years ago without getting these crashes? Does full screen > windows help?

Any other settings I may need to change?

Cheers

Window or full screen shouldnt make to much difference

Random resolution can course alot of the crashes, I'd just suggest keeping the soma window "square ish" so no wide screen resolutions

There is a new code to make the game hud bigger but havnt got acess to computer to look it up

For 1080p i use these in my SomaDevLauncher.ini

resolution_width=1920
resolution_height=1000
game_resolution_width=1280
game_resolution_height=720
resolution_up_scale=1

Thanks for that, Played for an hour with no crashes,

Last question, Why is it when I have spotify or youtube (anything really) on in the background other monitor the game becomes VERY jumpy? Is there a setting to stop this?

Cheers

Yes. This is known as multi monitor lag. The only fix is to pester Finito about it and let him know your GDI version, and he'll patch a fix when he has time. That is until Windows does an update at which point it'll be broke again.

You can use 3rd party programs to block windows updates (which is what I do).

In the meantime, when the game starts to get jumpy there are three things you can do to alleviate the jumpiness:

1) Restart client
2) Die in-game and revive (dunno why this stops the lag)
3) Unplug all your extra monitors and only use one

So play with just the one monitor on stops the lagg?

What do you lose from dieing and reviving now? Again been so long since I played.

I suppose I could just tablet > pc speakers. That would allow me to use spotify without lagg. Ashame not to be able to watch netflix or w/e though!

If you have resurrection scrolls in your inventory (25k each, pennies) you lose nothing (except the scroll of course). Otherwise you get 2.5% penalty XP. You'll gain no xp until you get rid of the penalty xp first. At 10% penalty xp you can no longer revive and will warp to town (possibly dropping items, I dunno if they changed that).

I try to endure the lag (restarting client occasionally) but unplug my 2nd monitor when I PvP, WotW etc.
