Lowered Mob HP

So went to level yesterday thinking that Necro wasps had hp reduced as per the server update

"We've greatly reduced the health on Necro Wasp, Devil Deity and Valkirye Shaman. This will mean more drops and faster levelling. Enjoy!"

but its exactly the same as pre change, is it not implemented yet or is it just not working.

Cheers

Just curious about how lowering their HP = faster levelling? Is the % of damage what speeds up levelling is it just based on the damage number of the hit?

I still have to go on 3 hunts in full gear (not too shabby either) and I get .2 int (202 or so int).

Mage levelling is definitely a lot slower than melee, none more so apparent is this than after 176 int. It’s definitely a step in the right direction, as many people were put off before now with the war of attrition that is trying to cap intelligence. It’s always going to be slower than say killing boats with a 500 recoil weapon.

The gap in speed of levelling as a melee char at trolls vs a mage char at wasps must be absolutely gigantic, melee people are often found complaining rested doesn’t generate fast enough, as a mage I didn’t even catch my rested on the x2 week lol. I got it to 30% and it’s slowly creeping back to 100, not that it will make a blind bit of difference as there’s zero chance of me ever catching it as things stand.

It is also incredibly expensive to level a mage, on top of the absolute slog it is - this health reduction has meant a few more drops at wasps so that is good at least, but we’re still nowhere near balanced v our melee levelling counterparts.

Dr evil, if wasp had 1000hp and gave 1% lowering their hp to 750 they would still give 1% if they had 1hp they would still give 1%.

So lowering monster hp gives faster %.

Admittedly I haven’t done any levelling at trolls as of yet (might just skip that anyway), but my point is people with lesser mage gear are going to struggle more massively than I do with it, and tbh I’m sure people with better stuff than me still struggle pretty badly with levelling int.

I’m not trying to moan here, just demonstrate the imbalance issue there currently is between levelling mage and melee - which is probably 90% of why all the mages quit their chars.

Swap earring for upped call stud, get hero 2 top and use hero helm, some good ma to be gained :D ultimately though, it is the speed at which mages cast that hamstrings the levelling process, gear will only do so much.

Maybe we should group hunt, one both weaken a big group then both aoe them down, rinse and repeat. May net us some rapid xp.

I’ve got a 7-15 valk stud but prefer a little less MA and a little more MD as wasps hit very hard, hero 2 helm would be lovely if I was even sure Zombie essence existed and as for hero 2 top I’m miles off. Also lacking a damned stave as they’re near impossible to get as a mage unless level 120 and you do the mags quest, although I do try Nega now and then.

I feel like that would be very slow, although easier to AoE than valks (which are very difficult), they’re still not that easy to pull into groups.

Definitely agree speed of casting is the hamstring of mage levelling, but with some tweaks of some sort (I’m not sure exactly what) I’m sure this could be fixed.
