A solution to gvw/pvp imbalance (hsoma)

Author Content Date
I expect there's probably some who will disagree with me but in my opinion all the fun from soma comes from pvp. In general the more people on each side, the better the pvp. The more guilds (more alliances etc) and the more balance, the better the gameplay for those in strong guilds and those not.

I think an idea to bring a reasonable balance without nerfing anybody would be to have a cap on the combined level of a guild.

This would have a purely positive effect on the server, and see power distributed much more evenly across guilds.

There of course will still be strong guilds and less strong guilds - but it would essentially 'CAP THE GAP' between high and low level guilds - a gap which can only get bigger as the server goes on....

It also opens up a new concept of guilds 'levelling up' via quests or gvw wins etc. to increase this combined level cap to create a stronger guild gradually.

Intelligent thoughts please...

what happens when the average level across the board goes up?

I get what you are saying but shouldn't whoever wants to be in a guild together be allowed to do so? It could also mean that once a character levels up it gets booted out guild etc?
Also any high level guild will surely just make Guildname1 Guildname2 Guildname3 and fight together?

I do get what you are saying but it's probably something the community should implement themselves to increase fun rather than put into game =/

Good point, maybe the GMS could work out a way of calculating this cap based on average level of server etc and raise accordingly?

I guess it depends on whether you think the overall balancing effect would be worth pissing off a couple of people

or maybe you could train your stats and level up, like... play the game.... instead of constantly trying to find ways to nerf the efforts of those who have played the game.

trust me this isn't me trying to nerf anyone - simply trying to make the guild system and the game more fun and complex

+1

there no imbalance at gvw, just some have played more than other, meaning they are stronger

Cant punish people for having more time than other,

id rather see gv added to each town and only 1 guild can have 1 gv

EQ win every week because they've lvld the hardest and stuck around when others have quit.

The strongest highest lvl guild SHOULD win GVW every week, it's kind of the whole point of lvling and gettin stronger, it's the same on all games that have castle guilds can win o_O.
When my guild owned all 3 castles on a Mir2 server no one else managed to take any of them off us for nearly a year, did they whine and bitch? No they lvld and recruited more members to try and beat us, just like all the people that whine and bitch about EQ should be doing.
