self explanatory. A real shame the toxicity that goes on this site, the way people talk to and about each other, its just disappointing to see all the time. A thread can go from discussing what color the color blue is to slagging each other off going back and forth in a blink of an eye.

I've offered to moderate this for nothing more than the pleasure of restoring this site to a place where we can sell/talk/discussing/sharing and post ideas without the loss of brains cells.

Dont get me started about the world chat that everyone can see after every altercation or gvw. Yeh I can turn off world chat, I can turn it all off but the bottom line is the problem is still there.

I know that GM's are busy irl I get it but you have experienced players here that feel the same way i do, use them... Im sure 99.99% of players would happily, when asked, take some of the load off you guys.

Much Love to the Gm's but something needs to happen and a lot of things need to stop.

How would the owner of this forum (Dan) police the forum moderator?

By that, I mean this ….

Each player has their own “circles” within the game. These comprise people they know, people they like, people they don’t like and people they don’t know. There would be a natural tendency for any “player” (who is moderating) to behave differently within those circles, especially where a situation evolves where the circles overlap.

Furthermore, each individual (moderator) will have their own ideas as to what is (or is not) acceptable. Each individual (moderator) will act (or not) as they see fit. This can be very divisive within the community and by that, I mean this …

Most people (in any game, actually within “any” forum community (extended well beyond games)) like to be able to say (and do) whatever they want. There is generally a sense of “entitlement” (ie. I am “entitled” to post this, that and the other). Generally, people do not like to be censored (even when they know they are mis-behaving or breaking the rules). That doesn’t mean to say they should have “free reign” to do whatever they like. But it also doesn’t mean that someone (at the other end of the spectrum) should censor every little thing said and done. Censorship (generally speaking) irritates people and can often inflame the restrained person(s) especially in a “tit for tat” row.

Sometimes, the best moderation comes from the passive God, donning a large sheathed sword.

I am not advocating there should be no moderation. Rather that, it should be an inactive player (or preferably a non-player) as it is now.

"PROWLER"How would the owner of this forum (Dan) police the forum moderator?

Guidelines for what a moderator should act upon, and database lookups to supervise the moderator. It's easy enough to hide a thread/post instead of deleting it (to make actions reversible). I assume that's even how it works now, you generally don't delete things like that.

The staff would then have to look at the actions taken by the moderator(s), and while that is still time consuming, it's much less so than moderating the forums themselves.
