Knowing that historically, in Esoma or here that drops can swing day to day from nothing to plentiful, I'd definately give it a bit more time.
Also remember a 25% improvement will be in the form of - instead of 1/200 chance of dropping a gem, it will be 1/150 which in % terms will be going from 0.5% chance drop to 0.75% drop chance (I think, first vodka) Still a long shot but still an improvement statistically.

Also the anvil is fine as it is, sometimes you get lucky, other times it all goes to pot - the ups and downs of soma, if you don’t wanna break your best stuff then make backups.

Dea, whether you like it or not some of your post do come across as a moan, your still a pup remember that, I'm the old twat I'm allowed to moan your not ;)
You've spent hours at mags and only 1 tab, hours at devil fish and no diamond, before the increase you say you'd have a couple of tabs by now from mags, that's a moan ;) Where do you think I get all the items from for giving out as prizes for competitions I hold, yep boars and trolls you imbecile , there are farmable ;) Haven't you worked it out by now? Your unlucky when it comes to drops, remember palus, you hadn't got a diamond in how long, I came up and was it 2 and half hours later 6 small diamonds.

I came back specifically because iSylver/Finito increased the rates and the drops.
I don't want to sound negative - and this isn't criticism, but while increased rates/drops are good for the server, and I have noticed a difference in levelling speed and drop frequency, I don't personally think it's enough. I don't want to spend hour after hour after hour on this game anymore, but I want to be able to compete. The game takes too much time, to even nearly be effective. Thousands of hours. Sure, faster speeds and better drops are a start... but I don't feel like the game has in any way catered for the casual players. Not past level 100. The strong high-hour-input characters are far too strong and monopolise bosses, pvp/rvr/pve, and the gap to the top is simply staggering. Until something extreme is done to bridge the gap, I can't see myself playing like I used to (and trust me when I say that I would like to... I just don't see the point anymore). I don't think there's any point in writing a big list of things that need to be changed any more. Those lists and ideas have circulated time and time again. All I can really do is state the most basic and obvious and agree with SubXero... this game needs the 'WOW FACTOR' back. Why can't something drastic be done, out of interest? The worst observation I can make is that changes and increments are painfully slow in arriving and nearly always what feel's to be the absolute minimum you'll let us have. Just... Set up some poll's and see what people are looking for, what they want out of the game, the options available to the staff and game-masters; the pro's and con's of each action. One of the most frustrating issue's is a lack of transparency about the game's direction, in my opinion. Free rested to 100, what's the harm in that, seriously? Increase the % upgrade chance of the anvil but cap any increase to +2/+3/+4 (with +1 being guaranteed) with every other +5~+8 being the way it is at the moment. That anvil upgrade doesn't help the higher level's at all, but will really bridge the gap morale-wise for lower levels and give us some decent items to run around in. Level 100-110 much faster, level 110-120 much faster. Seriously improve drop files as well as frequency. Until I can log in for a few hours a time a few days a week and actually get somewhere... I really don't know how much longer I am going to stick around. Sorry. Iselix TL;DR (.Nice work on rates/drops increase but more needs to be done because as a casual player only putting in a few hours every few days I get absolutely nowhere. This is literally the only game I have ever played that required thousands of hours to become average.) GM - out of interest, how many hours could you put in yourself if you started a new character based on real-life commitments, and how happy would you be knowing 1,000-2,000 hours is needed to be literally no-where. I get it; this is a free private server running abandon-ware and you do this in your own spare time to give us a hobby. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask how your going to change things from how they are/were (in e/c/k-soma) to now. 99.99% of the people asking for changes forget how much has changed, and we really do hope you can give us, well... just one more update. One update at a time.

"DEAMOND" Perhaps the 25% has just increased the chance of the unwanted items dropping therefore decreasing the % of the good items. It has increased the chance of unwanted dropping but has also increased chance of the best item dropping by 0.25% Table % is the same if you understand The good old rng

1000 wasps I have had 1 herb 2 ll 1 frog and 1 rare drag proc necklace
This is worse than before How ever those slating brainstorm he’s actually correct . If you have 100% of shite and give your self 25% that’s still 3/4 of shite win CTF your now nearly 50% better drop rate Had a lot of decent feed back from devs hunting mags since the change so do the maths yourself. ( they won ctf) l

I’ve done .5 int at wasps, a few hunts these days and came away with 1 ToL, 4/5 frogs, probably 5 LL, a few herbs, a water attack choker and a fair few small gems - RNG doesn’t become non existent because drop likelihood was upped by a quarter, it just becomes less likely to hit you negatively. Again it’s been like 2 days, you guys never had a bad couple of days drops before?
Also the CTF point is very true, maybe hsoma will stop ignoring this event now, what with all the moaning they're doing about drops lol.

interesting how ppl have different opinions on this subject. I haven't read all posts, but I agree with Raven and Dr Evil. When dealing with averages you need a large sample size and 2/3 days is not that, especially in view of the fact that we all have good days and bad days drop wise. 100 hours would be a fair sample size but what would you compare that to? has anyone ever recorded the number of drops at a particular mob over a 100 hour period?
Regardless of that, lets keep it simple. If u got 4 drops every hour, you now get 5 so the difference is negligible, but over time it will add up. Another thing to remember is that it's the drop rate that increased, not the quality of drops. A bone is not what anyone wants, but is still a drop and its very easy to disregard those insignificant drops, but they are still part of the equation. We still at the mercy of rng. The gm's have a tough job, it's about balance...too easy and no challenge, ppl leave. Too long to get good gear, ppl leave. No one would be happy if they increased it too much, we all got used to it and then they took it away. Like cooking, u can always add, but cant take away kind of thing. If it doesn't prove to be beneficial, it's possible that gm's will look at it again. I'm not disrespecting anyone elses opinion, we are all entitled to our own opinion and each is valid and there's no right or wrong opinion, but give it more time and see. Good luck with your drops and have a good weekend all :)

Prob too soon to say as drops are best measured over time than specific hunts but at 25% you shouldnt expect much if a drop rate is 0.1 then its now 0.125 etc, a very minor increase.
Nice to have but noteworthy ofc not. Drop rates on good stuff are more than likely in the 0.0xx range so it might be worth requesting certain items rates be changed rather than across the board % which can be misleading. I think tabs in general are too low, can do 10,000s of blg and never see 1 dt. Diamond rates are fine if you know what you are doing. Fort plates for sure need a boost. Troll rings could use a boost they are so infrequent even untagged ones. Med rubies could use a boost seeing as the volume you need to make acc set + att set. Blg is prob the most highly hunted mob of all time with at least 2-3 ppl hunting them around the clock which unnaturally divy's up your farm in a very lopsided manner kill volume to drop results wise. Adding nonghons blood to mags, trolls, boars would balance out frogs, or better yet mare blood which the 3 frogs seems to be the bottleneck of keen production.

Drops are fine.
Do a large sample size, anywhere between 100-1000 hours, and compare to previous samples. You'll probably find you have 25% more "stuff". |
