For those who have mentioned the changes are little etc.

This is because the changes being made by Dan are all database side, for any real change it requires code change which I believe only Fin can do.

My impression is that Fin is quite busy currently, more so than Dan, he comes back in waves and fixes a load of bugs and then is absent again for a while.

For anything really major to happen there needs to be a good run at coding to happen and it just doesn't feel like they have the time.

I have offered help before, to Fin in pm but he probably gets so many he doesn't read them. To write something like the new auction house sytem in C# would be fine for me (.net developer by trade) as a little open source project, but I can see why they'd keep the code tight to their chests as its now their baby after all.

As for the drops, I logged on and did 5 mins at nightmare, got a CT and Frog off the first few and then nothing for 30mins, sample size is key and time will tell.

Uhhh... no.

Ever heard of data-driven development? In a nutshell, you don't need to change the code, you just change the data and it changes your software for you "automagically".

Data-Driven Development is pretty popular in software nowadays. I'd suggest you look it up if you're a developer.

Nowadays being the key word there. Soma is 20 years old and if you think changing the database will magically implement a new auction house system you're mistaken.

It was a suggestion I've put forward and I wanted people to understand why changes are small and drip fed.

I still think capping everything at +5 is the way to go, yes you'll still have people raging at anvil but the gap between the rich and poor wont be as exaggerated and it won't be as big an issue when trying to play catch up.

‘The gap between the rich and the poor’ sick of hearing this, just worry about yourself and you’ll feel a lot better.

FYI I don’t even have a single +6 item.

Maybe so but it's an important aspect of the game to monitor as a lot of players are concerned about being competitive. Ironically though a lot of 'rich' players are feeling poor due to losing their loot at the anvil.

I think the main thing is that it is impossible to get involved in PvP in a meaningful way unless you are at least moderately geared, which is relative to all other players.

Putting such a huge barrier in front of the only fun thing to do in the game probably turns most people off playing.
