well +1 to mickyc and otd asking for an anvil revamp.... tho
The question could be slightly amended to ..... In a gear based game ..where gear is everything... and drop rates.. levelling rates.. craft rates... more items to upgrade...basically everything has been made easier.... Why on earth hasn't the anvil and upgrade system had a revamp, been made a little easier and most important some transparency into how the damn thing works. Some people say the anvil is fine... they're usually the buyers with near/ maxed out gear. Why after 3k hours + crafting shouldn't hi level ppl get some buff/ bonus for time invested. There's quite a few guys at 170+ craft skill that have quit... and that's some serious hard work.. nvm 200 skill. Anyway my usual moan.. even tho i have no characters anymore .. just a reminder to the gm that drops aint the biggest problem here.. it's what happens to.. or doesn't happen to the drops at the anvil that's the problem. This inconsistency at the anvil.... low lev crafters knockin out +5-6-7's etc...being able to use SS's with no skill..... it's all poo. Revamp the anvil and make the upgrade system transparent with rewards for those that have put the time in ffs. It aint asking a lot...and the question is really....... Why hasn't this happened before in Soma which is primarily a gear based game....? ( nearly 2 years since i got my 200 skill.. asked loads of times..only replies i've ever had are ''get on with it..like it or lump it'' kinda replies and bad attitude.. and that frankly..aint on .. hence im gone)

Trying to put a bit of perspective into players minds that....they worrying about drops....25% of hardly anything is next to nothing..... 100% of hardly anything is still hardly anything..... wtf.... it's a gear game....... wouldn't it just be a bit more sensible to kno how to get/ make ur gear instead of throwing ur items over ur left shoulder while standing on 1 leg and hope the wind is blowing in the right direction? Also, no need for characters here.... new server/ rewipe on the way. No donations coming in with the present set up. Can't expect gm activity with 0 donation activity. The financial model here is to prevent ppl from capping too quickly, and getting bored. The problem is.. levelling is too fast and gear is too hard/ unpredictable. Would be far better from a gm perspective, to slow down the levelling...sell resteds..and make gear easier to get . hence keeping interest alive.. but always levels and xp to gain.. so the donation store stays active with ppl buying rested pots ( only ppl makin any £'s are sellers, coz the gear's so hard to make... the gm's could make a bit of profit..but they doin it ass about face)

Lupi I made a +5, 2x +4, few +3’a and a couple of +2 items yesterday, few things broke - anvil can be cruel at times, other times it’s a lot less cruel.. you knew what the increase in success rate was going to be before you spent thousands of hours chasing minimal gains (200 craft skill) you should’ve farmed with that time instead and you might have the items you wanted so badly now.

I also knew how long getting 30 con would take.. or getting 100 craft skill.. or gettin 100 dex....but they were all made easier.... everything ingame has been made easier or adapted for qol ..except the anvil. I might moan a bit.. my gear was pretty tasty.......... had some good gear...but a good weapon evaded me.. bad attitude from dan when asking about the anvil...so im gone..all my characters.. all my gear...my gs with 100m + barr and plenty of everything..simple
